WI plans for Christmas at meeting
Seventeen members and four visitors sat
down to a delicious luncheon at the
Lucknow Women's Institute meeting on
Tuesday, November 11.
Kay Macintosh chaired the meeting for
the business period and Jean Whitby read
the minutes of the last meeting and the
correspondence. A donation was given to
the Day Centre for the Homebound in
Wingham. It was also decidedto have .a
Christmas dinner for the members at the
December meeting.
The rollcall was "name a politeness you
admire" which brought out some in-
teresting ideas.
Mary MacGillivray chaired the meeting
for the program. Mrs. MacGillivray and
Rhoda macKenzie read appropriate
Remembrance Day poems and all sang 0
HOLYROOD STORE
Canada. A singsong was enjoyed with
Noma Campbell as the leader and Mrs.
Wes Ritchie at theme piano. Mrs.,,
MacGillivray gave the motto "Go forth,
have faith in tomorrow". She left some
food for thought on this subject.
Mrs. William McInnes, the district presi-
dent, brought greetings and also told us
about her trip to Ireland on the exchange
of WI members. She showed the different
currency and many pictures..
Rhoda MacKenzie also showed slides of
her trip overseas in September. These pro-
ved interesting.
Mrs, MacGillivray thanked all who had
helped in any way to, make a most en-
joyable afternoon. She presented Mrs,
McInnes with a gift on behalf of the in-
stitute. The Queen was sung to close the
meeting.
