(Dave Sykes Photo) Midgets lose fast -paced game Last Friday the Midget team visited the Walkerton home ice. The game was a very exciting, fast paced game that had the fans on the edge of their seats all night• . Walkerton 7 Lucknow 5 In the third •period the Walkerton team went ahead by two• goals, after Lucknow had tied the game four different times, to make the final score 7-5. The Lucknow goals were by Kevin de Jong with 2, Jeff Pollard with 2 and Scott Hackett with 1. Ayton 11Lucknow 2 Every team is entitled to have a bad game once in a while and the Midgets had their first and hopefully last when they visited Ayton on Monday night. The final score was 11-2, with goals being scored by Steve deJong and Jeff Gammie, Palmerston 7Luclino* 4 Last Tuesday, the team travelled to Palmerston. They played- a tough game with the final score being 7-4. Jamie Hum- phrey led the scoring with two goals, Steve deJong had one and Scott Hackett had one goal and two assists, The Midgets play at home against Nor- xnanby next Monday at 0;30 p.m. Play Kalamazoo • • Pee Wees, Bantams hit the road The Lucknow 13antava and Pee Wee hockey teams, along with their parents, left town on Fridlay, Novi .i' 7 on the buS for Michigan. Eight hours later, the weary travellers reached their destination of Kalamazoo which hosted the boys to a hospitality evening vvhen they arrived. Luckn©w vs Kalamazoo On Saturday morning, the Bantam team was on the ice by 9:15 a.m.° and walked away with the victory - 14-0 for Lucknow. The Pee Wees played later, with Kalamazoo coming out the winners by a 9-2 score. The rest of the day was spent shopping, visiting and tracking down the boys in the mall. Sunday found the group up at 5:30 a.m. to get ready for a pair of early morning games. The Pee Wees were again defeated by Kalathazoo by a score of 9-1. The Ban- tams were not as kind to their hosts as the Pee Wees and defeated Kalamazoo by a score of 44. After the game, everyone packed up in the freezing cold. That is after everyone got the "extras" off the bus that seemed to keep following the boys around. Lucknow vs Kentwood On the way home, the teams.stopped at Kentwood for what everyone thought would be an enjoyable game. After they shook hands, Kentwood came our fighting. World War III was on, but the Bantams posted 4-1 victory. On the road again, the entourage finally arrived in Lucknow at 12:30 p.m, The boys arrived tired, but a good time was had by all. Kalamazoo, Kentwood and Lucknow all presented each other with their town pins, and a promise fromKalamazoo to try hard to come up and play a series of games in Lucknow in the spring. Special thanks to everyone who purchas- ed merchandise at the bake ,sale and everyone who bought a ticket on the 50-50 draw. The money. raised helped the teams charter a bus for the trip. Thanks to the bus driver who put up with all the running around and the singing of some of the passengers. Also a special thanks to the coaches and people for organizing the trip. Lucknow 15 - Delmore 1 Thursday; November 13, the Bantams travelled to Delmore with the score ending • 15-1 in Lucknow's favor. Scoring were; Brad Murray 9 goalis 3 assist.% Richard Brindley 2 goals, Donnie Gammie 1 goal 3 assists, Rod Crich 1 goal 5 assists, Jim Sen- nett and Kent Campbell 1 goal and two assists each. Paull Helm had the shut -out until 42 seconds left in the game when Belmore finally scored. On Friday, November 14, Ayton came to Lucknow to try and rebound from a 8-6 defeat by Lucknow a few weeks ago. Lucknow 6 Ayton 3 Again, the Lucknow Bantams won by a 6-3 score. Scoring for Lucknow were Brad Murray with 2 goals with Rod Crich, Jim Sennett, Scott Gibson and Butch Foran scoring one each. Paul Helm and Jonathon Nelson shared the goaltending duties. The next home game is November 21 against Mildmay at 8:30 p,m. The Ban- tams play good hockey and if you're look- ing for an evening out, come cheer the boys on at the local arena. Ripley minor hockey • news by Barbara Grubb Atom Ripley travelled to Teesweer on Nov, 11 and dominated the game. After a scoreless first two periods Ripley fired the puck into Teeswater's net four times. Scoring was, handled by two team members: Darryl Bot - ton and Brad Fludder earning the shut out was Andy Moore. Pee Wee • The Ripley squad hosted Lucknow on Nov. 14. Ripley scored the only two goals in the first period, Mike Hodgins unassisted and Robin Neabel assisted by Mark Broer. Lucknow tied thescore early in the second period, Mark . MacLeod broke the tie before the end of the second period when be picked up a pass from Mark Broer and Robin Neabel. With only 54 seconds left in the game Mark MacLeod scored the insurance goal.
