period on a goal by Chris Stephenson
assisted by Brad Brodie. On the next play,
Dale Priestap did an excellent job of sav-
ing a goal on a goal mouth scramble.
Ripley's Trevor Van Sickle cleanly beat
Lucknow goalie Adam Skillen with a hard
shot along the ice to end the first period in
a 1-1 tie.
Early in the second, period, Lucknow
again went ahead on a Dale Priestap tip -in

ing the puck. As well, Terry Kennedy was
valuable defensively in frnt of the net.
The t. 1 rd period was strongly contested
by both sides with agressive play and
skating. Peter Reavid was partycullarly ex-
cellent
xcellent in skating a Ripley player on a
breakaway to the outside and saving a
possible goal. Ripley would not give up and
kept storming back at the Lucknow
defenders. Finally, with 41 .seconds re-
maining, Ripley's Van Sickle flicked in the
equalizer during a scramblein front of the
goal.
Two nights later, Lucknow travelled to
Tiverton and played a hard-hitting game
which had 11 goals and 21 penalties.

45 and 57. Winners so far are. George
Stanley, Claude Guay, John McLeod and

This week's feature focussed on Larry
MacPherson. Larry is one of the shortest
players on the team, but with his speed he
is able to get into the open and rarely
misses the net when opportunity knocks.
And when the going gets tough, Larry gets .
going, dishing out bodychecks that only big —
brother Steve can top.
The Lancers host Mildmay next Sunday
and travel to Teeswater on Friday.

]Lucknow went ahead to stay on a goal by
Hunter and Mike Vanderveldt, Insurance
markers were added by Priestap from
Stanley .and Neufeld and from Rau when
he took the face-off, passed to Cuillerier,
who then fed a good pass back to him in
front.
A special note should go to checking for-
ward Justin Murray, defencemen Donnie
Cuillerier and Duane Porter and goalie
Adam Skillen who put forth excellent ef-
forts while. killing off 13 penalties, five for
Sutton, three for Hunter, two for Stephen-
son and one each for Neufeld, Porter and
Crich. It looks like some of the boys will
have to watch their tempers and learn how
to check legally.
