School collects
350 for UNICEF
TO
To the Editor:
We are happy to report a total of $350 col-
lected by the pupils of Lucknow Central
Public School for UNICEF on Hallowe'en.
Although this is more than last year, fewer
children carried boxes this year. This was
partly due to the need of a permission slip
to take a box.
We are disappointed to learn that many
area school are no longer raising funds for
UNICEF. There are so many needy
children in the world so why are you miss-
ing this chance to share? What better time
and way do teachers and parents have to
teach children, while they are mostly think
of themselves, that they can also give to
those who need clean water, food medicine
and a chance to go to school.
We hope to see many more UNICEF
boxes at our door next Hallowe'en. Thank-•
you to all who collected and gave this year.
