Dungannon UCW meets
The October meeting of the Dungannon
UCW was held at the church basement,
Roberta Linskill was in charge of the
devotional. She opened the meeting with
prayer "Now thank we all our God" was
sung with Roberta as the pianist. The scrip-
ture reading from Psalm 136 was given by •
Karen Roberts. This was followed by the
singing of "Come ye thankful people come."
Donna Young read a poem "Give me a
thankful heart". Psalm 771.
A General Thanksgiving was repeated in
unison. Dorothy Pentland gave two
readings, Thankfulness and Thanksgiving
on the. farm. Roberta Linskill then read
from: Psahn 95 and 96. Her : theme on .'
Thanksgiving mentioned how during. the
early 1600 the Pilgrims held their
Thanksgiving. They did not have. much, but
what they had they, were truly thankful for.
Ruth McKenzie read a• poem For exciting
moments. This was followed by singing 1
thank the Lord my maker. Roberta closed
the first part of the meeting with prayer.
Collection was received and the roll call
was answered by Something you are
thankful for.
Nora Saunders presided for the business
part of the meeting, which included the
reading of the minutes,the treasurer's
reportand correspondence.
An invitation from the Auburn UCW was
received to their Thank Offering Service on
October 22: Penny Boxes have to he in by the
November meeting
- Our quilt display will be • on October 30
from 1:30 p.m, until 8:30 p.m. Everyone is
invited. •
Our next meeting will be on November 18
at 8:00 p.m., not at 1:00 p.m.'
Grace was sung and lunch was served by
Roberta Linskill and Tinie Logtenberg to
close out the meeting.

Who -o -o -o andhis assistant were in
attendance as well as a society lady who
had a vision problem which the above doc-
tor couldn't correct. The good Father used
his faith to get the good cards and the
clowns were good sports . despite the bad
cards.
High lady for the evening was-. Jean
Brougton while the low lady was Grace
Finnigan, The high white card was Eva
(Art) Stewart with the 'low white card
score going to Al Linskill.
Everyone had a really good time and
Happy Birthday was sung to the October
celebrants, Pearl Caldwell, Colleen Eedy,
A.J. Sherwood, Evelyn Errington, Maxine
Pollock, Elwyn ?trimmer, ., Ann Krauch,
Jean Phillips and jean Errington.
Don't forget the General Meeting on
Wednesday, November 12 at 2 p.m. and the
Bazaar on Saturday, November 8 from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m.
Explorers
The Dungannon Explorers group met on.
October 23 in the United Churchbasement
for their Hallowe'en party.
Leader Donna Young gave out the

Maribeth Dawson, Christy Kerr, Danielle
McClinchey and Rosalind Jervis were the
organizers for the activites. The costumes
were judged by Helen Nicholson and Don-
na Snyder.

The meeting ended with a lunch served
by the leaders and some of the girls'
mothers followed by the regular closing
hymn. The next meeting is on November 4.
People report
Congratulations to Margaret. Mole on the
birth of her seventh great-grandchild and
to Bob and Betty on another grandchild.
Proud, parents of Scott David McLellan are
Diane and Dave McLellan of Walton. Scott
was born in Wingham hospital on Thurs-
day, october 30.
Company recently with Gertrude Park
were Edith (Treleavan) Yanke of Toronto
on Wednesday, and Nell Handy and Gladys
Ladd of Goderich on Thursday.
Local man wins accounting award
Keith and Loree Raymond attended the
"A Touch of Gold" conference at the
Hilton Harbour Castle in Toronto on Oc-
tober 30 through November 2.
On Saturday, November 4, Commence-
ment took place with Keith receiving the
T.H. Frankling gold medal and his Cer-
tified General Accountants designation.
The T.H.Frankling Award is presented to
the student with the highest , average
academic standing in fifth level accoun-
ting examinations in Ontario.
Keith also presented the Valedictory Ad- `
dress and proposed a toast to the 438
graduates and their guests. Guests atten-
ding were Mr, and Mrs. Robert Raymond
of Brussels, Mr. and Mrs. ltoss Gamic of
Lucknow and Mr. and Mrs. Barry Reid of
Wingham,
