looking for vohinteer.
Everyone at the Pinecrest Manor Nurs-
ing Home has been busy this month.
Teen volunteer program
The nursing home is planning to start a
new program m here like the Candy Stripers
in the hospital.. Instead, it was thought if
this group were to be called "Teen
Volunteers" maybe there would be some
boys interested b joining. There will be
pins and certificates handed out for hours
worked. If anyone is interested, would they
please come to the nursing home to fill out
an application form. If you are 14 or in
Grade 9 - we need you!
Pleasant surprise
The residents had a pleasant surprise
and treat last week when Anne Pritchard
bought them. all ice-cream cones from the
Super .Scoop. Thank -you Anne.
Clothing .
The Silverts Clothing also set up store in
October for the residents and families to
do some shopping. The residents would
like to thank everyone. who visited last
month and entertained.

On Hallowe'en day, the school children
from Kindergarten to Grade 5 came over

The residents enjoyed seeing all their
costumes and listening to their songs.
Phanecrest also have their Adopted Grand-
child Program again this year.
Birthdays
On November 0, Rev. McFarlane will be
serving Communion.: irthdays in October
were Annie McKinnon, Jim Mothers,
Peter Johnston, Joe Shiebel<, Ruth White,
Annie Nethery, and Gordon Steell.
The resident are really going to miss
the head nurse, Muriel, Courtney who
retired on October 28. Best of luck, Muriel.
Church services run every Sunday after-
noon and we extend an invitation to all
family and friends to come and worship.
Superintendent
retiring this 'year
Ashfield Township Road Superintendent
Jim Hunter is taking an early retirement -
effective the end of this year.
Jim has worked on construction for 40
years, and a total of 26 years for his home
township.
