HENDERSON LIMITED LUCKNOW Hours: Mon:•Fr1. 8.5:30 Sat: 8 . noon 528-3118 Friend honor Edna Boyle on her 85th birthday Friends of Miss Edna Boyle' attended the Open House for her 85th birthday and one of our former neighbor girls, Doris (Barr) Bushell of Wingham composed this poem about Edna and May Boyle. It was recited at the Open House and reads as follows: Ode to May and Edna Boyle The Boyle's are well -know ladies, fondly known as Edna and May, Such important parts in con urnunity life these sisters together play. May is news correspondent for the little burg of Kinlough, Subscribers read with interest, of the natives and where they go. Her weekly column in papers, of the latest events and such,; Is often clipped for scrap books to ;most people it means so Hauch. Poetry, too, is one of her flares, she com- poses poems sometimes, And over the years many people have received one of May's special rhymes. Of course, she had Sometime for others too when she wasn't doing the news. Tending the ladies about the burg who • often needed neve hair -do's. She has used her pen and writings of news and historical quotes, And a gift of storytelling too of little humorous anecdotes. Edna, a well-known musician, of her talent she cheerfully lends, At church or institute meetings or whatever event she attends. She taught piano to pupils, many budding. musicians had she, And also for years she's been church organist for a total of seventy-three.. We know of no other organist, who's as dedicated as this, Who gives herself so faithfully and more, as we reminisce, She played for Christmas concerts for the one room school at Kinlough, She's come for practice weeks in advance often through blizzard and snow; -' She played for weddings and :funerals wheremusic was special indeed, Always ready to use her talents for others in time of need. The Boyle's was a haven for teachers who taught at SS no. 2 Who felt like one of the family there in their home and some still do. To the Boyle's, such loyal citizens we ex- tend our gratitude, It's a better place because of them, round Kinlough and Holyrood.
