Holiday visitors from Kitchener withHedieys
Mrs and Mrs. Kevin Howie, Kristin and
Michelle of Kitchener spent Thanksgiving
weekend here and accompanied their
parents and .other family members to a
Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday evening
at Dunkeld with Mr. and Mrs. Mervyn
Hedley. After dinner the group spent the
evening at the Hedley home in Walkerton..
We extend empathy to the relatives of
the late Mrs. Harvey (Pearl Haldenby)
Anderson who passed away on Sunday at
London following a severe seizure on Fri-
day. Pearl grew up in our area, the
daughter of the late Mr, and Mrs. Fred
Haldenby.
Mr. and Mrs: William Haldenby and Ar-
thur Haldenby received word of the death
in London of their nephew, Elmer Kolpin's
wife Nora,, who passed away after a
lengthy illness. Ehner is the son of the late
Mrs. Margaret Dudley of Lucknow and.
here. Sympathy is extended fromKinlough
friends.
Mrs. Audrey Borthwick of:St, Catherines
and Mrs, Lenore Sutherland of Leaside
spent the weekend with Mrs, Agnes.
Hodgins and Mr. and. Mrs. Jack Hodgins.
Mrs. Norme Sieloff . spent Thanksgiving
with Edna and May. Boyle.On Saturday
evening, Jack and Merle Hodgins enter-
tained all the first cousins, Audrey, Lenore
and Norine, also Agnes Hodgins and John
Hodgins,
Visitors Sunday evening with Edna and
May Boyle were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott
of Ripley, Mr. Don Blue of Toronto, who
took Mrs, Norine Sieloff to Ripley to visit.
She and her son Calvin returned home to
St. Clair Shores, Michigan on Monday.
Neighbours and friends of Miss. Edna
Boyle enjoyed 'Open House' planned by
her sister May on Tuesday afternoon and.
evening and Thursday afternoon and even-
ing, on the occasion of her 85th birthday. A
very pleasant time was enjoyed.
Mr, Jack Webster of Edmonton, Alberta
visited, here with relatives and friends on
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Edbert Bushell had for
Thanksgiving supper Mr. and Mrs. George
Bushell, David and Janet of Ottawa, Anne
Fraser and Douglas McLeod of Kitchener,
Mrs. Kathryn Fraser, Janice and Edwin of
Armow, Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Bushell joined the family party.
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Waite and Mrs. Amy
Teele from Wisconsin visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Tom McDonald here.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Thompson of
Pinkerton have a new baby boy, a brother
for Medi, a grandson for Mr. and Mrs.
Tom McDonald,
Presbyterian WMS
The Presbyterian. WMS held their
autumn: Thankoffering meeting at the
church on Wednesday afternoon and had
as . guest ladies from Teeswater`MS%
Kin' lough ACW, Kinloss UCW and Kinlough.
• Pentecostal WM.
The theme was Thanksgiving, and the
Holy Table was laden with fruit,
vegetables and flowers. Mrs. William
MacPherson was organist. Mrs. Don:
Bushell presided and welcomed everyone
and led in the call to worship.
Mrs. Don. Robertson read the scripture
and Mrs. Tom McDonald gave the medita-
tion Godd goes before, and prayer, Mrs.
William MacPherson and Mrs. Bruce
Bushell favoured with a duet Until Then.
Mrs. Bert Thompson introduced the
guest speaker, Mrs. Evan Keith,who.
brought greetings from, the Maitland
Presbyterial of which she is the president.
She gave a very inspirational talk using
several biblical references. Mrs. Frank
Maulden expressed appreciation and. Mrs.
Don Reid gave a suitable reading,
Mrs. Alex Percy and : Miss .Winnifred
Percy received the offering. Suitable

hymns were sung throughout the meeting
which was followed by a fellowship hour.
Each group expressed thanks for a very
pleasant time which was enjoyed by
everyone present.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rhody, Michele,
Marianne, Mandy,, Daniel of London, Mr.
and Mrs. Allan Rhody, Matt, Brad, Dawne
and Elaine and Mr. and. Mrs. Dennis. Brace
and Traverse were Thanksgiving dinner
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Rhody.
Rev. and Mrs. George Garratt of Kincar-
dine visited on Friday with Edna and May
Boyle.
Mrs, Harold Haldenby of Sarnia called
on relatives and friends here on Thursday.
Congratulations to Mr and Mrs. Tony
Howald who were married on Saturday at
the Pentecostal Church.
Mrs. John Barr. and Miss Winnifred Per-
cy were supper guests on Sunday with Ed-
na and May Boyle. On Friday evening Mr.
• and Mrs. Jack Scott of Ripley visited at the
. same home.

4-11 club
meets recently

Dung the second meeting of, the Eti-
quette for the 80s 4-H club, the members
talked about'the upcoming banquet in Kin-
cardine oil November 24 at i6:30 p.m.
The group chatted about such etiquette
matters as what' tosay on the telephone
and, guidelines for getting along with your
family, Also included was a discussion
about parties and invitations.
It was also announced assistant leader
Donna Johnston would be attending a
special 4-H camp at Centralia during the
summer.
Family meals was the next subject of
discussion for the group. They talked
about how the table should be set at a for-
mal family meal. The members even prac-
tised setting a table the formal way.
Finally, the members split into two
groups, went into two separate rooms and
worked on a word scramble organized by'
Donna Johnston.
Before . the meeting adjourned, the
members all repeated the 4-H motto:
"Learn to do by doing".
Society ho!ds
euchre tourney
There were 13 tables in play at the
Dungannon Agricultural Society's first
Euchre Tournament of the season on
Saturday, October 11.
Leroy Draper and Brain Draper won the
$50 first prize with a score of 82 in ten
games. Second prize went to Millie
Johnston and Ila Pollock who won $40 with
their 79 points. Jane Glousher and, Nadine
Scott placed third with a score of 77. They
won $30.
A special contest was won by Barb
Pollock.
A speciaimention of thosepeple who at-
tended the tournament while visiting in
our area - Martha Hazlett,, Burlington en-
joyed the euchre games with her cousin,
Sandra Rivett While Ron and Pam Poulin
from Welland attended with her father
Tom Tobey.
Everyone enjoyed a plentiful lunch and
were invited to attend: all of the up -coming
events that the Dungannon Agricultural
Society will be sponsoring this fall, in-
cluding the next euchre tournament on
Saturday, November 8. Future . tour-
naments will be held on the second Satur-
day of each month until April.
