The three-year accreditation`was'based on an independent survey by the Canadian Council of Hospital Accreditation. Marie Vollmer, the administrator at Pinecrest Manor, said t, )o accreditation, which governs the performance of hospitals and nursing homes across the province, was granted for an above. average compliance with the standards set down by the independant agency. . ' She said in order to establish the ac- creditation, a long questionaire was com- pleted as well as the nursing home being visited by a inspector from the association for an entire day. "It was a voluntary thing with an in - dependant surveyer surveying the home to see if it meets the standards," she said. In the report filed by the survey, they noted that the nursing home provided "quality, care" and it was "commended for the excellent attention given to the counncnl,'s standards".
