They really enjoyed the trip to Art Bell's Orchard where they tasted all the yummy . apple products. Mrs. Worsell's Grade .a class held a Food Festival from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3. Each" pupil prepared a project on one food andbrought a sample of their food to be tasted. What a delicious week! Mrs. Kuc, the Public Health nurse, visited Mrs. Ottewell's Grade 3 class and read a story about good food habits to the class.' They really enjoyed her visit. Mrs. Tebbutt's Grade 6 class finished the Expo '86 unit and enjoyed . the centre ac- tivities.. They welcome a new student, Ray Snow, to the class. Mrs. Tebbutt's and Mr, Liddle's Grade 6's are doing posters for the -,Great Canadian Book Fair, which is in the library on Oct: 9 - 10. Mrs. Clarke's and Mrs. Ottewell's Grade 3 classes took tripsto the Wawanosh Valley Conservation Centre to learn about trees. , The two classes shared a' picnic lunch at the centre. Mrs. Clarke's class has been working on adding and subtracting two -digit numbers, and they've been writing letters to their favorite trees. We've also learned how to , .turn newspapers back into trees! The hotdog committee organized a delicious hotdog sale, helped by the clean- up, leanup, money, and serving conunrttees. This week they're introducing Angela. Bridley. Mrs. Young's Grade 1 class now knows all the color words. They are Making apple -shaped booklets and have lots of apple activities. w AN INTERVIEW WITH A NEW TEACHER Bonnie Jewitt lives in Clinton with her husband Ross and children, Lori, 15, , and Scott, 12. She has taught all grades, but mainly Music, Phys Ed., and Special Ed, for 19 years. At Brookside she is teaching Music and Special.Ed. Her favorite recreation is golf, but there isn't much time since she is on Clinton's town council. She plays piano for many gatherings in many different capacities. She takes an interest in minor sports since her children are involved. She teaches piano lessons and she says she loves kids, but that's not for sure. She's a very busy lady. and she loves teaching at Brookside. The school crest contest has winners. In the Grade 7 and 8 division, first prize winner is Jocelyn Asnong and second prize goes to Deanna Greene, In Grades 4 to 6, first is Elliot Bauer, second is Kim Parrish and third is Ruth Ann Bakker. In grades 1 to 3, first is Heather Robinson, second is Adella" Andrew and third. is Danny Wylds. The official school crest will be Jocelyn's. Congratulations to all winners, and thank you to all those who, submitted a crest. The school soccer, teams are now picked.
