Church• on Wednesday afternoon.
Some from here attended the Siloes Lake
Women's Institute meeting on Wednesday
evening when Terri Jilrason, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. rt ob Johnson who was an ex-
change student spending the past year in
Fran-ce, showed pictures and gave a splen-
did talk on her school work and other ac-
tivities there. This was much enjoyed by
all present,
Mrs. Jean Hodgins of 'Wingham spent
the weekend with E a and May oy1e and
they all visited Mrs. Cora Thompson at
Kincardine on Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnston and
Douglas visited at Walkerton with Mrs.
Jen Kraemer and family on Friday
Local married in California
The marriage of Barbara Mae Blake to
Damon Webster of Santa Monica, Califor-
nia, took place in Hawaii, in a quiet
ceremony on September 5. Barbara is a
daughter of Mrs. Olive Blake of Lucknow
and the late Cecil Blake.
Joel and Katie Bendig of Goderich spent
the weekend with their uncle and aunt Tim
and Wanda Hodges while their parents en-
joyed a trip to Niagara.
Sympathy is extended to Jean
Broughton on the death of her cousin Ed
Blackwell of Lucknow on Thursday. A
legion service was held on Friday evening,
with the funeral and interment on
Saturday.
John and Marina Park and Harvey and
Betty Reid of Southampton enjoyed a five
day northern trip, they motored through
Algonquin Park the Haliburton area and
the Muskokas where the trees were a riot
of fall colors. They returned through the
Barrie, Collingwood area.
At the United 'Church on. Sunday morn-
ing 13 young people confirmed their faith,
from the Dungannon charge were Kevin
Black, Wayne Black, Michael Campbell,
Joe Curran, Stephanie Durnin, Angela
.Glenn, Arletta Glenn, Sherry Hodges,
Shannon Kerr, Sheri Smyth, from the Nile
charge Tracy Black, Lisa Scott and Paula
Vanderburgh.

winner was Cliff Menary, Door prizes were
won by Gordon. Pollock and Isabel
Kilpatrick.

Holyrood WI
The Edueatiora and Cultur. Activities
meeting of the Holyrood Women's Institute
was held on Thursday evening at the home
of Mrs. Lorne Ea(sTe with an attendance of
13 members and 2 visitors.
Mrs. Harold Smith presided and extend-
ed a welcome to all present. The roll call
was "the oldest 1. :sok you have". The ode
was sung and the Mary Stewart Collect
was repeated followed by the minutes and
financial report by Mrs. Douglas McEwan.

thank you note from Mrs. Janet Goldspink
of Kincardine. She extended a special
thanks to those who looked after the
display at the LUCICIIQW fall fair.
The upcoming events are the County
Raily at Sauble Beach. The Remembrance
Day Service and a Christmas Bazaar. Mrs.
Harold Smith read the report of the Area
Convention at Southampton, Happy Bir-
thday was sung to those having October
birthdays, Mrs. McEwan reported on the
4-H club.
Mrs. Lloyd Johnston introduced the
guest speaker Mr. William Pike, Principal •
Of the Lucknow Central Public School where
270 students are enrolled. Ile took as his
topic Education in the Ms. He told of the sub-
jects that are being taught and the newer
methods which are now being used. Mrs.
Douglas McEwan thanked Mr. Pike for
splendid address and presented him with a
gift.
Mrs. Frank 1VIaulden gave a reading and
Mrs. Delbert Hedley and Miss May Boyle
presented a humorous skit. Mrs. Agnes
Hodgins conducted a Thanksgiving
contest,
The courtesy remarks were given by
Miss May Boyle and the meeting closed
with 0 Canada and Grace after which a
delicious lunch was served. •
Mr. Wayne Johnston of Mississauga and
his mother Mrs. Mark Johnston visited on
Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Johnston
and family, concession B.

M. and Mrs. Bill MacPherson of
Holyrood visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Stevens of Listowel on October 4 and at-
tended their annual Orange Lodge dance.

The first meeting of the Trinity 4-0 was
held on September 25 at the home of Mrs.
Suzanne Andrew. Nine members and two
leaders repeated the pledge. After the
members filled out enrolment cards the
leaders, Suzanne Andrew and Shirley
Hunter, discussed the things they would be
doing in the next couple of weeks.
Nancy Hunter nominated Janine Helm
for president and Brenda Gibson
nominated Warren Andrew for Vice-
president. Both of these motions were car-
ried. The position of secretary will be
rotated.
The club has four experienced members
and four new members. Also, there will be
a guest at each meeting.
The group made two Afferent kinds of
natchos. One was cooked in the oven while
the other was cooked in the microwave.
The members also had grape drinks *ith
the natchos which were good.
The next meeting will be held at Shirely
Hunter's on September 30 at 7 p.m.

The third meeting of the "Manners
Maketh the Teenager" club was held at
the homed Cailin and Meaghan Clarke.
The meeting opened with the 441 Model,
followed by. Barbara Stein reading the
minutes. The leaders, Mrs. Stein and Mrs.
•de Boer, did a skit on how not to eat in
&bile. The members reviewed the proper
way to eat out.
