Sympathy is extended to Jean Broughton on the death of her cousin Ed Blackwell of Lucknow on Thursday. A legion service was held on Friday evening, with the funeral and interment on Saturday. Mrs. Lloyd Johnston introduced the guest speaker Mr. William Pike, Principal • Of the Lucknow Central Public School where 270 students are enrolled. Ile took as his topic Education in the Ms. He told of the sub- jects that are being taught and the newer methods which are now being used. Mrs. Douglas McEwan thanked Mr. Pike for splendid address and presented him with a gift. Mrs. Frank 1VIaulden gave a reading and Mrs. Delbert Hedley and Miss May Boyle presented a humorous skit. Mrs. Agnes Hodgins conducted a Thanksgiving contest, The courtesy remarks were given by Miss May Boyle and the meeting closed with 0 Canada and Grace after which a delicious lunch was served. • Mr. Wayne Johnston of Mississauga and his mother Mrs. Mark Johnston visited on Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd Johnston and family, concession B. 5 M. and Mrs. Bill MacPherson of Holyrood visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stevens of Listowel on October 4 and at- tended their annual Orange Lodge dance. By Stacey Haldters The first meeting of the Trinity 4-0 was held on September 25 at the home of Mrs. Suzanne Andrew. Nine members and two leaders repeated the pledge. After the members filled out enrolment cards the leaders, Suzanne Andrew and Shirley Hunter, discussed the things they would be doing in the next couple of weeks. Nancy Hunter nominated Janine Helm for president and Brenda Gibson nominated Warren Andrew for Vice- president. Both of these motions were car- ried. The position of secretary will be rotated. The club has four experienced members and four new members. Also, there will be a guest at each meeting. The group made two Afferent kinds of natchos. One was cooked in the oven while the other was cooked in the microwave. The members also had grape drinks *ith the natchos which were good.
