LCPS students and teachers busy with fair
y e Broorree
Last week was a busy one for LCPS
students and teachers.
A lot of time was spent planning and
preparing our float for the fall fair. The
theme of the float was "Lucknow's High on
Education." Our work was worth it asthe
float placed t lyd.
The Grade 8 class was busy working on
their games and make-up booth. And, of
course, the band was busy practicing,
marching and, playing for the parade.
Fair "Roaring Success"
Fair Day was a roaring success for the
Grade 8 class. They made $187. at their
game and makeup booth. Some of the
games included: Bowling, Bean Bag Toss,
Ring Toss, Hockey Shoot, Nail Drive and
two guessing games.
Mr. Dave Black won the Nail Drive with
only two pounds. Bernice Glenn's guess of
400 jelly. beans was closest to the actual
number of 493. Another winner, Heather
Steer, guessed the time closest to the hour
and minute on the watch. A digital watch
was unwrapped and showed a time of 8:.
Heather won the watch with her guess of
8:00.
Special thanks goes to Hamilton's Fuels,
Lucknow Variety and Goods and to the
Holyrood General Store for donations.
Congratulations are extended to Mr.
race Skillen for his co=ordination of an
excellent fair. Also, L.C.P.S. Grade 8 class
thanks the Agricultural Society for the use
of booth space at the fair grounds.
oth the girls and boys tug-of-war teams
were victorious in their, attempts to bring
the plaque back to LCPS. Each . team
donated their winnings to the Grade 3 Ot-
tawa Trip. Their delight was further in-
creased when the "18 and under" tug-of-
war team also donated their winnings to
the trop. Thanks a million guys,
