Couple celebrate anniversary
Congratulations to Charlie and Ruby
Fowler who are residents at the Zurich
Nursing Home on the occasion of their 50th
wedding anniversary on September 19.
They were long time residents of P'ungan-
non.
Irvine and Colleen Eedy visited hn
London for a couple of days ]last week with
relatives.
In last week's column several little ones
were starting into kindergarten. Two other
little ones not named were Nicole Maize
(Rick) and Peter Adaanas (George).
Betty Bowers is a patient in University
Ho pital intensive care unit following a
massive coronary on Monday. Best wishes
are extended and everyone hopes to hear of
only good news.
Sympathy is extended to Nellie Pentland
and family on the death of their father and
grandfather, Peter Bilstra, in Brampton on
Sunday, September 7, in his 75th year. The
funeral service was held on Wednesday
from the McCallum and Pala Funeral
Home with interment at Maitland Cemet-
ery.

A wedding shower was held on Sunday
in the United Church basement for Shelley
Dugal (bride elect of Ray Ulch) hosted by
Susan Brindley and Nancy Carmichael,
There were about 20 in attendance with
Shelley's relatives travelling from as far as
Windsor.
On Saturday evening, a 22nd birthday
party Was held at the home of Duane Rivett
for his brother Scott. It was attended by
members of the ball team and other
friends.
There were 11 tables at the Seniors
euchre on Wednesday evening. High man
was Art Stewart with a 78; low man was
Tom Culbert with a 42. High lady was
Delores Culbert with 78 and low lady was
Helen Nicholson with 37.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Massey, (Pauline
Jones) of Cleveland, Ohio, visited .on
Monday with Mel Jones.
Ladies attend microwave demonstration

On Monday, September 8, about 90
ladies attended a microwave cooking dem-•
onstration at. the Dungannon Agricultural
Hall.. Shirley Couillard, author of "Mirac-
les in Microwave" conducted the class
which was sponsored by the Dungannon
Agricultural Society.
Shirley demonstrated many techniques
'and tips about the proper use of a micro-
wave, while cooking roast beef, lasagna,
meatballs, lemon pie, chicken cordon bleu,
spanish rice, rice pudding, brownies,
corn -on -the -cob, baked apples, Sweet and
sour chicken, liver and fish. Those in
attendance then had a chance to taste -test
the prepared foods.
Lucky winners of door prizes were Bev
Ohm, Sheila • Faber and Ruth MacKenzie
from Dungannon, Joanne Smyth, RR
Auburn, Winnie Walters, Goderich, Diane'
----Ferguson, Blyth and Marg Siettser`na.
