Luollin©w Sentinel, Wednesday, Seiptinber 3, 1986—Page 7 iss Luelmow 1Fall Fair Ig'86 to be crowned at dance On Saturday, September 13, the Luck - now Agricultural Society will hold a contest to select Miss Lucknow Fall Fair. This will be held inconnection with a dance at the 4„..ommunity centre. Music by Anything Goes from 9 to 1. Admission $4 or $10 per family On Friday, September 19 the exhibitors place their exhibits ikthe arena between 9 and 12 noon. Judging will take place between 1 and 3 p.m. At 7:30 the arena is open to the public with local entertainment followed by a. log sawing contest. The log sawing has proven very successful over the years with six classes being offering. Chesley presently holds the trophy for the competing societies. There also will be a challenge match between Dungannon and the winner at Lucknow. This will be followed by the official opening of the 123 annual fair by Miss Lucknow Fall Fair. Nail driving and bag tyingwill be other contests held on Friday evening. On Saturday, September 20 the children bring in their pets at 1030 for judging • while the light horse show starts at 11 a.m. At 12:30 amammoth parade takes place • with •the Lucknow and Brussels bands participating. After the parade, WI the contestants of tne Mss Mid Western Ontario Beauty Pageant will be introduced. At 1:45 p.m. a horse shoe tournament will be held behind Willits Tire. Bayfield Lions Club will supply kiddes rides for the smaller children. The Nine Mile River Boys Will supply entertainment throughout the afternoon. Children are encouraged to pick up any garbage and sign their name and deposit it in one of the barrels for each half hour draw. At 2:3Q there will be a frog jumping contest followed by stilt walking. Each contestant must supply his own frog and stilts. In t Arena there will be a baby contest for three age groups starting at 2;30, At 3 p.m. the chain saws will start up behind Willits Tire with 8 classes competing. At 3:30 the various ,elementary schools show their strength in the tug-of-war contest. Lucknow Public School currently holds the trophy. During the afternoon the light and heavy horse shows, poultry, sheep, goats, cattle and 4-H are all being judged. At 8 p.m. the Carlton Show Band will return with a very popular concert and dance •W 10 p.m, Miss Mid. Western Ontario will be crowned.
