Water1oo man dies suddenly
Gordon Clifford Irwm
Gordon Clifford Irwin died suddenly at
his Waterloo home on. July 22, 1986. He
was 65 years old.
Born on June 16 in Huron Township, he
was the second eldest son of the late James
Irwin and Etta Woods. He was predeceas-
ed by his parents, James in 1960 and Etta
in 1957. brother oss in 1929 and a sister
Mary Jane in 1947.
He is survived by his wife Helen of
Waterloo and two daughters, Mary Lynn
and Susan, one son Gordon, one brother
Eldon of Sarnia, two sisters. Evelyn of
Selkirk and Etta Mae of Niagara and eight
grandchildren,

The funeral service was held on July 24
at the Edward Goods Funeral Chapel and
the burial took place at the Parkview
Cemetery in Waterloo.
Relatives and friends present from the .
Lucknow area were Mrs. Clarence Irwin,
Mrs. Jean Irwin, Mrs. Mae Hunter,, Lloyd
Irwin, Mr. and Mrs. Spence Irwin, Mrs,
Joan Martin and Mr. and Mrs Leonard

Newmarket resident dies at 85
Mary Jane [Irvin] Naylor
Mary Jane (Irvin) Naylor died at the
Thunder Bay Hospital on August 3, 1986 in
her 85th year.
She has . resided at the York Manor
Nursing Home in Newmarket for some
years and had recently attended her grand-
daughter's wedding in Thunder Bay.

David L. Robb
• David L. Robb of . ;392 Bob Street in
Lucknow died at his home on August 6,
1986 at the age of 59. -
A retired farmer, Mr. Robb was born op
Jahuary 2, 1927. He was the son of the late
John Robb and Nancy Ann Bell.
He is survived by two brothers Clifford
bb and • his wife Marjorie of Kinloss
Township, and Chester and wife Velma of
Hamilton. He is also survived by one niece,
Lois Stinson. -
The funeral service was conducted at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home,
Lucknow with Rev. Allison Ramsay of the
Lucknow Presbyterian Church officiating.
Interment was at Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.
She was the daughter of the late Robert
Irvin and his wife Eliza (Hackett) of Ash-
field. She was the wife. of the late Milton
Naylor.
She is survived by two daughters Betty
(Mrs: John Smith) of Keswick; Dorothy
(Mrs. Ronald Sullivan) of •Thunder Bay;
one son Irvine of Newmarket; step -daugh-
ter Loreen (Mrs. Irwin Campbell) of
Kingston; step -son Vernon of Ottawa, and
several grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two brothers
William Irvin of Ashfield Township;
Private Alex Irvin in 1918, and one sister
Mrs.: Pearl Morrison. '
A memorial service was held in Thunder
Bay followed by cremation with interment
in Greenhill Cemetery, , Lucknow.

award scholarship
Beverley Carlisle has been awarded a
$2,000 Open Scholarship- by the Federation
of Women Teachers' ' Associations of
Ontario. The award was announced on
Tuesday, August 12 at the Federation's
annual meeting in Toronto.
Ms. Carlisle will complete 'a Master of
Science in Education degree at the Univer-
sity of Northern Illinois.
Ms. Carlisle has taught since 1975, eight
years in Bruce County.
`The Federation represents Ontario's
31,000 women :elementary public school
teachers.
