Grove WI tours historicai jail
Purple" Grove Women's Institute and
friends went on a bus trip Wednesday and
toured the Huron County Historical. Jail at
Goderich and the Huron Country Playhouse
to see the performance of `Annie'. An en-
aoyable day was had by all,
;alders at Morley and Deanna Scott's on
Monday were Joan Hartwick, Michael and
arren and Scott Bannerman of
Kincardine.
Visiting this week with Don and Anne Mc-
Cosh were Clara Shields and Millie Camp-
bell, Marion Emerson and granddaughter
Susan Emerson.
John and Marlene Collins, Dawn Star and
Katie returned to Cole Bay, Saskatchewan
where John is principal of the school there,
Sheena MacDonald spent the first week of
August as a camper at Pioneer camp
"Cherith", north of Walkerton..
Happy Birthday to Meagan MacDonald
who was 6 on Aug. 9, Janelle and Joey Elliott
helped to celebrate this event on Sunday,
Visitors with Donald and Aura Gillies on
Sunday and Monday were Mr. and. Mrs. Cart
Armstrong and Brenda of Merlin,
Donalda Pollard, Marion Gamble, and
Cousin Barbara Newton spent one week and
a half with Sister Marg MacDonald at her
summer home at Blue Sea Lake,Quebec.
Accompanying, - them was Joan. Roe from
_Ripley who Chaffeureed'Old Chevie',.
Visiting with Grace McTeer were Wayne
and Lorraine and Leonard Kerr and other -
family members on Sunday for a turkey
barbecue.
Ripley Horticultural Society Bus Trip was
on Tuesday this week. Participants enjoyed,
a paddle boat ride on the Grand River, tour-
ing
the Shakespearean Gardens, Stratford
and also visited a Gladioli Farm near
Stratford.
Betty MacLeod and Edna Stanley took in
two plays 'Gone to Glory' and `Drift' at the
Blyth Theatre on Thursday.
Ryan and ,Andrew Doupe spent the
weekend with Norval and Isabel Stanley:
Tammy Doupe spent a few days also:Helen
Smith and .Audrey. Traher of London visited
with the Stanleys on Monday.

visited last Saturday with Donald and San-
dra
andra Forester.
Teresa Farrell stayed over Tuesday night
with Angela Devitt. Jean-Paul, Joel and Joy
Ellen Greenwood were visitors with John
Farrell's family on Tuesday this week.
Visitrs with on and Marilyn Reid on
Sunday evening were Don. and Kay McCor-
mick, Brian and Jo Reid, Sandra and Ed
Husk, Mrs. Robt. Reid and Josephine
MacTavish.
Visiting this week with Ken and Brenda
Bridge and family were Cassie Martin and
Tim•Kestlick of Toronto.
Rena Campbell visited this week with Don •
and Tiny Robertson..
Congratulations to Evelyn, Bridge in
receiving the Honourable Mention Award at
the C.N.E. quilt competition! -
Marj and Aurel Armstrong were Sunday
visitors of Mary Armstrong, VVingham.
Visiting this weekend with Don and Alma
Gillies were Valerie and Dave Gibson, Dan
and Julie and friend Janet, Lyn and Joan
Hodgins and Brian all •of London, and
Evelyn Henderson of Kincardine, Dan Gib-
son is vending a week's holidays with the
Gillies. •
Isabel Brooks, Gladys Arnold and Clara
Shields visited Sunday . at Kincardine
Hospital with Stewart Shields.

Colwell. " •
Sandra Forster and Donna Jean attended
a shower for Diane Keith in Teeswater Sun-

A farewell party was Meld for Joe and
Geraldine Emerson who have recently mov-
ed to Kincardine in. form of pot luck supper

munity Center, They were presented with a
