, The prince and princess of the Dungannon Fair were named at the Variety Concert held at
the Agricultural Hall on August 10. The newly crowned princess is Laura Mulder, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mulder of RR 1 Dungannon. The prince is Michael McNee,
9, the son of Mrs. Linda McNee of Dungannon. The 1986 Queen will be crowned at the

Old and new events at annisal fair
• Come to the fair - Dungannon Fair'that
• is! the 127 Dungannon Fair will be held
this weekend, Friday evening and Satur-
day, August 15, 16 with a great combina-
tionof old and new events for your
pleasure. •
' Throughout the fair, a craft show and
business displays, homecrafts, flowers,
school and fair history exhibits can be
viewed, Friday evening also offers a Kids'
pet parade. iudeirie of the 1986 Fair Queen
(contestants, chain sawing, log sawing,
bale throwing and arm wrestling. Speciat
entertainment will be provided by the
2 -Cool Trick Team, 2 young men using
B.M.X. bikes in a stunt show that will,thrill
viewers. A 6 foot and a 31/4 foot ramp are
• used in the demonstration, which is
correlated to music during the perform-
ance.
On Saturday, the heavy horse show and
the English and Western horse show both
.start at 10:30 a,.mwith some of the finest
• horses in Ontario.
The parade will leave the United Church
at 12 noon, travel north along main street
and west on the fourth concession of
Ashfield to the fair grounds. All judging
will oe done in advancecommencing at
11:30 a.m. Following the parade,, Leona
Armstrong, Warden of Huron County will
officially open the fair. Also, the fair queen
contestants will be introduced and Denise
Maize, Miss Dungannon Fair for 1985 will
crown the new Fair Queen and first and
second runners up.
At 1 p.m. a Horseshoe competition will
be held by the barn while' 4-11 Homemak-
ing achievement awards are held in the
hall. Following at 1:30 is the baby show,
•,with all babies receiving a gift.
The 2 -Cool B.M.X. Bike Trick Team will
perform again at 2 p.m. with bicycle -races
starting on the track at 2:30. A new open
one mile run will take place at 2:45 with all
participants receiving a gift.
At 3 p.rn., a watermelon seed spitting
contest will be- held by the barn while an
auction of baking exhibits will be conduct-
ed in the hall by Col. Cletus Dalton. Also at
3 p.m. Ann May, Western Ontario's Queen
of the Cowgirls, and her trick horse, Silver,
will perform fancy roping, roller board and
ring act in the corral.
Fair goes will also be treated to free
musical entertainment, free pony rides and
the Bayfield Lion's. Club Kiddie midway
during the afternoon. Also this year,
Rosemont Amusements will be bringing
larger rides and games to the fair, so make
plans now to attend Dunigannon's 127th
Fair on August 15 and 16.
