Lords lose semi linals.to Newry
The Lanesville Lords tried hard to be
"A" champs but were defeated in the semi -
finals against Newry who eventually went
on to win the championship.
Lords first put out the Belgrave Diggers
11 - 4, then moved on to play the
Crystalizers, beating them 14 - 4. They met
the Teeswater Ball Busters next. While
winning 11 - 9 at the end of five innings, a
protest was made 'because of time. So, an
hour later, the Lords played two more
innings defeating the Ball Busters 12 - 11.
In the semi finals the Lords met Newry,
who had won three years in a row, and lost
14-4.
The Port Albert Bulldogs also did very
well, finishing one step better than the
Lords. They won their first game 12 - 6
against Wingham Business Men. They
then met the Clinton Warriors, defeating
them 13 2, Next, they played London
which was a close game 4 - 2 for the
Bulldogs." They then came up against Blyth.
Inn, defeating them 8 - 4. Theymet Newr
