Toronto Sunday visitors with Wilkins fancily
Sunday visitor=s with Charles and Mayme
Wilkins were Laura and Mabel Campbell of
Toronto..
Elizabeth Wilkins, daughter of Charles
and Mayme. Wilkins, worked for three
weeks at Five Oaks in Paris as a music
instructor.
Wellington,, Kae and Jim Webster
visited recently with Jack, Marion and
Lloyd Smith in Clinton.
Cecil Webster, son of Wellington and
Kae Webster, spent a wheek o£ his
holidays in Richfield, Ohio with his sister,
brother-in-law and niece, Atlee, Jean and
Tricia Wise. On Sunday, Atlee and Cecil.
came up to the Websters on their motor-
cycles.
On Monday, Atlee and Cecil on their
motorcycles, and Jim and Kae Webster in
the car, went up to Tobermory.
Jim and Kae took a ride on the Lake
View Glass bottom boat and found it very
interesting. Kae enjoying it mostly when
they went to Flower Pot Island and found it
so much more interesting to be so close to
the island than seeing it from a distance.'
When trolling for fish, it is impossible to.
get near the island on account of the rocks.
Jim and Kae Webster visited with Bill
and Myrle Craigie in Tobermory and also
their two grandsons Chris and Danny
Hindman, sons of Captain, John and
Charlette Hindman, also of Tobermory.
John is a captain on the ChiCheernaun,
Jim Webster spent his holidays at his
parents home, getting ready and then
taking a part in the Lucknow Craft Show
where he displayed and sold some of his.
handy work.
Marion MacLennan and Dick Evans of
Sudbury are now the home of Marion's
Anglican
Church Service
mother, Rhetta MacLennan.
The MacDonald clan held their annual
picnic on the MaeDonalld farm on Saturday,
August 2 and in the evening had a dance in
the Lucknow Community Centre.
Finlay Mac]) mild had his steam engine
in Prt Albert on Saturday, August 2 and
took part in the parade there.
A weekend visitor at the Wilkins home
was Elizabeth's friend Donna Pawluk of
Hamilton.
Visiting on the weekend with Ewan and
Marj MacLean was Mrs; John Metcalfe of
Petrolia,
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb were
recently on a twelve day bus tour of the
eastern provinces. The weather was good
for most of their trip which they enjoyed
very much,
Mark and Heather Darling, children of
Bob and Sandra. Darling of Hanover, are
spending a few days with their grandpar-
ents Mr, and Mrs, Gordon Robb. '
Visiting with Dorothy Finlayson during
the weekend were some of her family., Paul
and Jane Emberlin of Toronto; Rod and
Jeannie Finlayson and girls of Sarnia, Bill
and Judy Finlayson and John and. Jennine
of Teeswater; Ken and Allan Finlayson of
Toronto; Duncan Finlayson of Kincardine
and Carol Finlayson and her husband John
Balch and their two boys of Toronto.
Some weekend visitors with Finlay and
Margie MacDonald, who also attended, the
MacDonald reunion were, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Birkbaug and family of Chicago,
Illinois; Kathie Robson, Ryan and Phedra
of Grosse Point, Michigan; Mrs. Sadie
Blue of Detroit; -Mr, Meldrum of Detroit;
Mr, and Mrs, Jim Coburn of Detroit; Mr.
-.and Mrs. Walter Murray and two girls of
St. Paul's, Ripley . 9:00 a,m.

steam engine in that class in the parade at
Port Albert.

on the weekend were Finlay MacLennan of
Kitchener and Peggy Heffernan of London,

Recent visitors with Barry and Betty
Jones were Betty's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Maurice Hunter of Dorchester and aunt
and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Les Hunter of
Thamesford.,
SS No. 9 students reunite
About SO former students and teachers'
of S.S, #9, Ashfield met at Brookside
School on Saturday, July 19.
Wilamina Lannan Hill registered every-
one and gave out name tags. Prizes were
given as follows; the oldest person present,
Thomas Glenn; the next oldest graduate,
Mrs, Bernardine Kinney; the former
student with most children, a tie between.
Mary Hackett MacGillivray and Rosemary
Lannan Bass, each having nine of a family;
the one whose birthday was nearest July
19, Russell Alton; special guest, Mr,
James Kinkead, who was school inspector
in Huron County for 30 years; the one who
came the farthest, Palmer Kilpatrick of
Agincourt.
These prizes were plaques with the date
and space for the recipient's name.
Corsages were presented to former teach-
ers who were present, ,Elizabeth .McIver
Dickie, Elsie Ritchie: Irvin, Margaret Finlay
Andrew, Jean Stotbers Carruthers, A cor-

sage was also given to Dorothy Alton
Harris who came in later and, being from
Australia, had come the farthest.
Frank MacKenzie of Lucknow played the
bagpipes at the request of the Mrs. Kinney
and `his music was much appreciated.
The gathering was planned by a
committee consisting of Wilamina Lannan
Hill, Phyllis Blake Morrison and Mary
Horton Bere.
Mary welcomed all those present and
asked for comments and opinions on future
gatherings. It was decided to hold a
reunion on years divisible by five so next
reunion will be 1990.
A committee was appointed to look after
the next reunion, Howard Blake, Gordon
Anderson and Rosemary Lannan Bass,
Everyone enjoyed. lunch and a social
time together. Thanks to those who
brought pictures and articles to share and.
helped in any way toward the success of
the event. It was really good to see former
classmates and teachers,
