The 57th M4cDonald reunion was held
August 2 at the MacDonald Cedar Grove
on the adjoining farms a George and
avid MacDonald.
The sp rts events conducted by Mary
Louie and Clete Dalton were enjoyed by
young and old alike. The results were as,
follows: running races, four and under,
Krista Meriam: five and six, Bobby
Simpson; sevenand eight, Michael
MacDonald; nine and 10, Jason Meriarn;
11 and 12, Antony Esteves and 12 to 16,
Jenny Davies.
Ball throw: four and under, Krista
Meriam and seven and under, John S.
Dalton; Sack races: 10 to 12 years, Ray
Dalton; shoe kick: 10 - 12 years (girls),
Julie MacDonald and 10 to 12 (boys) Jason
Meriam.
Wheel barrow races; 10 and under,
Antony Esteves and Andrea Esteves; 12
and under, John S. Dalton and Ray Dalton;
backward races: five and • under, Bobby
Simpson; six to 10, Jason Meriam;
three-legged race: Ryan Robson and
Allison McKinnon; open race: Paul Simp-
son,
Finlay MacLennan entertained everyone
with music on the pipes.
Acting president, Mary Edith irkhaug,
conducted the business meeting. Jessie
Johnston led in prayer and a moments
silence for those wh had passed away.
They were Kay MacDonald and Glen
Sthkes. A delicious lunch was organized by
Mabel MacD riald and Jean West.
The new executive for next year is,
president, Rod MacDonald; vice-president,
Clete Dalton; treasurer, David MacDonald,'
and secretary, Barbara MacDonald.
Sadie Blue and Duncan Allan were
honoured for being eldest lady and gentle-
man. Betty and Robin Davies and family,
from Edmonton, Alberta, won the prize
tor corning the farthest. Also in attendance
from various points were Chris Manthos
and Tia, Laurie and Bob Evans with their,
new baby daughter Carly. The youngest
clan member was Abigale Simpson. Finlay
and Margie MacDonald claimed the gift for
the longest married couple. A special thank
you to this couple for their generous
hospitality to visiting relatives over the last
many years.
The meeting ended with holding , of
hands and the singing of Old Lang Syne. In
the evening everyone attended the dance
in Lucknow and a good time was had by all.
