Good attendance at W1 meeting
The July meeting of the Purple Grove
Women's Institute was head July 23 at 9:30
a.m. at the Community with good atten-
dance and a few visitors. Fran Farrell was
president and Kay Collins secretary. The
meeting began with the Opening Ode and.
Mary Stewart Collect. Scripture was given
by Betty MacLeod. Roll Call was My Dream
Holiday. The minutes of the last meeting
were readand adopted and the Treasurer's
Report given. Correspondence was read and
bills submitted. The Fall Fair Committee is.
Janet Nixon, June Elliott and- Marg Van
Rooyen on the theme "Colour Me Blue".
Burnourous antidotes were given by people
whose names begin with D, E, and F. An
August news correspondent is needed.
Brenda Bridge reported on the Quest for
Success 4-H Achievement Night held at
Knights. of Columbus Hall, Walkerton. Bren-
da and Dianne MacKay were the leaders
and did a tremendous job. A motion was.
passed to make a donation to each club for
supplies. Bette MacLeod was convenor.
After ' coffee break an old-fashioned
geography match was held and with
Margaret Harkness at the organ members
enjoyed ed learning some old dances, After the
courtesy remarks were given,,,the meeting
closed with the Queen.
Get well wishes are extended to Marlene
Collins from the community, .Marlene is a
patient m Kincardine hospital after ,appen-
dix surgery.
Kay Collins and Marj Thompson were
guests at a wedding in Dorchester Saturday
and they visited with Helen Smith and Mary
Boyle on Sunday.

Dick McCosh, Isabel and Walter For-
rester and Don and Anne McCosh were
visitors Friday at Don and Sandra Forrester
at their new farm.
Many Purple Grove people enjoyed the
hot beef dinner at Fishermen's Cove put on
by the Men for Missions club.
Don and Gladys Robertson And Don and.
Alma Gillies returned this week after a two
day Mystery Tour.
Huron Township and. Purple Grove
Residents took in the Bruce County Cat-
tlemen's Beef Barbecue on Wednesday
evening.
Janet Farrell visited in Thorndale a few
days this week with Janice and George
Miller and new baby Rachel.
Christina . and Carmen Farrell, visited
Thursday with Sarah, David and Patrick
Farrell. •

Ethel [Margot] Parker
Margot Parker of Burlington, known by
numerous friends in the Lucknow area,
died in Brant Memorial Hospital in
Burlington on July 12, 1986. She -was in her
73rd • year..
She is survived by one sister Beatrice
(Mrs. Allan Houghton) of Burlington,
godchildren, cousins and friends,
The funeral and committal service were
heldat the Trinity Chapel of the Welling-
ton Square 1Tnited Church on July 14 with
Rev. Dr. N.K. Campbell officiating.
Cremation and interment were at the
Mount. Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto:

of 85,
Mrs. Jefferson was born on March 22,1901
in East Wawanosh Township to John and
Julia :(Doer) McClinchey, She later married
Charles Jefferson.
Mrs, Jefferson,who was a homemaker,
was a member of Wesley -Willis, United
Church and Donnybrook United Church as
well as a member of the Donnybrook UCW.
She is survived - by one daughter, Mrs,
Frank, (Elaine) Campbell of London; two
sons, Wesley of Donnybrook and Donald of
Clinton; 10 grandchildren and one great
grandson..Mrs. Jefferson is'also survived by
one brother, Gordon McClinchey of Blyth.
She was predeceased by her parents, her
husband, two sisters, ' Mrs. Charles (Kate)
'Robinson and Mrs. Charles (Esther) Potter,
and four brothers, Wesley, Henry, David
and Sidney McClinchey,
Funeral services were held on July 26 at:.
Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton,
with Rev. James Bechtel., of Wesley -Willis
United Church officiating.
Flower bearers were Derek Jefferson and
William Jefferson. Active pallbearers were
Gerald Jefferson, Hugh Jefferson, Harold
McClinchey, Norman McClinchey, James
Potter and Gordon Robinson.
Interment was in Greenhills Cemetery
and a graveside service was officiated by
