By the time the in- terest on the bonds came due, Mr. Moyes had disappeared. Many attempts were made to continue the line but finally in 1917° the locomotive, rails,flat cars, spikes, nails, ties, and timber were bought by the Ontario Hydro to be used by the Chippewa Power Project at Niagara Falls. . The bonds matured in 1938 and although the interest payments had been honoured, the principal still had to be met and it was not until about 1942 that the total obligation of aropndrone million dollars eras paid off, The right-of-way running from Goderich to Kincardine was sold to the Department of Highways of Ontario in 1946, for ' one dollar. A remaining hand -car and scraper used by the railway can still be seen in the Huron County Museum. Carmen continued to build the business from 1946 until the 1970's when. he=retired. His son Jim now carries on the business as Brindley Transport.
