The tweeting of Whitechurch: Wotnen's
Institute of Citizenship and World Affairs oy Valetta' Emerson
was held July 9 in the Whitechurch
Community Memorial Hall.
Mrs. Norma. Rintoul welcomed all and
opened with a poem by Ed Lamb. Plans
were made for the' -area convention on
September 8 C at Southampton. Jean Mac-
Duire was chosen as the delegate alternate
to Mrs. John Currie. A duet by Mrs.
Janette Wardrop and Mrs. Cathy Gibson
was enjoyed by the members.
Evelyn Gibb gave a reading on. Adelaide
Hoodiess who started WI work in 1897. The
roll call, Should Canada open its borders
to other countries and why, was answered
by the members. The motto, good citizens
are not born, they are developed, was
given by Mrd. Norma Rintoul. It is true that
in many hones across the nation, goon
citizenship isnot taught to .the children
either by y word or by example. A qualified
citizen .must obey laws of their own
government, Good ,citizenship is honest,
integrity, taking pride in your property and are happy to report she is now able to

The Falconer Reunion was held on
Sunday, July 13 at the home of John Dan
McInnes,' beside the • trailer park and
Legion Hall at his home.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sinnamon of
Bornholm visited on Sunday with Mr. and
.Mrs.. Ernest Beecroft.

last week at St. Cathertines Hospital.. We

On Thursday at noon the ACW ladies
from here were welcomed at the rectory at
Lucknow by Rev. Merelyn Letson, assisted
by her mother Mrs. Shepherd.
After the grace was said all went tolhe'
dining room table , which was most
attractive and laden with delicious goodies
served in smorgasbord style.
Rev. Letson expressed her personal
appreciation andall those present to Miss
Edna Boyle who has been the church
" organist for 73 years. Maureen Collins
presented Edna with an arrangement. of
lovely carnations: Edna's sister May Boyle
has been Family Life secretary of the
children of the ° church for many years,
remetnbering their birthdays with cards
and gifts, also to each new baby on their
baptismal day..
Maureen presented May with carnations
and Tara Thacker, on behalf of the children
of the church, gave both Edna and May a
lovely china dish and a stick pin.
Pictures were taken and both of the
honoured ladies expressed their sincere
appreciation for such a lovely surprise
party, end to those who arranged it, and to,
those :who contributed' towards • the ° gifts

honour of Mrs. Marretta ' Hodgins of
Niagara Falls who is having a holiday here.

Marietta was very glad to be back for such

members have been working extremely
hard despite the weather conditions.
The four Agricrcws who work out of
Huron County have been kept busy helping
area farmers with haying, fencing, weed-
ing, and of course - picking stones. These
eager students have been working well
together as a team and cm►phasize satisfy.

needed to provide work for the Agticrews.
