He was in his 87th year. The son of the late Wilson kwin • and Lavina Florence Caesar, he was born and raised on concession 10, Ashfield Town- ship and graduated from Belfast Public school and Dungannon Continuation school. He was taught Telegraphy by the late • Miss Lizzie Henderson. He also packed apples on the Joynt Farms and had many fond memories and tales of this 'experience. . In 1921 he married Christina (Ina): 4 MarshatGibsonandmoved to concession 9 Nest. Wawanosk-Township, After lutes death, Gord moved to Godeliolf and worked at the Bedford Rotel, and later at ' Gecteilek" Motets until .his retirement,* • ' 1967. .Cordon remarried itt 1943. Ile enjoyed his retirement working At wood- crafts and rug hooking.' Be moved to London in 1979. One chapter of his life he cherished was his baseball achievements. Noted as one of the top rated baseballpitchers of the era, he was once scouted by Pittsburgh Pirates.. - 4 . • Retirement front the game came at age 39 due to ,a knee injury. Gordie is still remembred by those surviving that era. Locat players Gord often recalled were Dune and Russ Johnston, Pelt and Joe McCoy, Russ- Bissett, George Smith, Horace Aitchison, Roy Pinlayson and "bat boy" Chuck Webster. Gordon enjoyed spending winters in Florida where he attended many of the exhibition baseball games. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. (Helen) Ken Rutter, of London; Mrs. (Mae) 0:11 Hunter of Lucknow, one son Wayne of NaUtville, Tennessee, one brother Spence of Lucknow„.seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, two sons, Carman in infancy and Harold (1945), and one brother Palmer (197S). Following cremation, a memorial service was conducted by Rev.
