Fall Fair books distributed
The Fall Fair '*oaks were distributed at
the Lucknow Agricultural 'Society's regular
meeting on Tuesday, June 24. The
Society's new logo appears on the front
cover.
Plans were made for the summer dance
on July 19; This year the Jam Jars will play
for the dance while the McMichael Sisters
Swill entertain at intermissions, Tickets will
be available at the door.
90th birthday
celebrated with
open house
Marie Morrison celebrated her 90th
birthday amid family and friends at an
Open House on June 28 at Copeland Lodge
in Wingham where she has been a resident
for several years.
Mrs. Morrison was born •in Ashfield
Township;;; the youngest child of William
Sherwood and Elizabeth Twarnley Sher-
wood. In 1919 she married Robert McInnes
who•passed away in 1961. They farmed for
over 30 years west of Teeswater where her
son William now lives. She later married Al
Morrison of Teeswater who passed away in
1977.
She has a family of one daugher and two
sons, Mary, Mrs. John Thornton of Gorrie;
William McInnes of Teeswater and Dan
McInnes of Blyth. She has 13 grandchild-
ren and five great, grandchildren.
Although confined to a walker, Mrs.
Morrison enjoys fairly good health other-
wise. She takes a keen interest in her
family and in community happenings. She
always enjoys having visitors.

at age 70
GRACE EILEEN CURRAN
Grace Eileen Curran, 70, of Goderich,
formerly of Ashfield Township, died
Wednesday, June 25, 1986 at the Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital.
Daughter of the late Robert Treleaven
and the late former Amelia Hackett, she
was born Jan. 4, 1916 in Ashfield Township.
She was a rnember of the . Victoria Street
United Church, Sunset Circle and the
Golden Qate Senior Citizen Association.
She was predeceased by her husband John
H. Curran on Nov. 26, 1981 and by .one son
Robert and . one son-in-law Dan Mero.
Surviving are her children Ruth and Keri
Oke, of Goderich, Sylvia and Ted Johnston,
of RR2 Goderich, Donald and Lynda, Grant
and Sandra, all of ERI Dungannon, Dorothy
Mero, of Nile, Mary and John Bissett, of
Goderich and Ralph and Arlene and Stewart
and Kathy, all of RR1 •Dungannon, three
sisters Anna May, Mrs. Vernon Hunter, of
Lucknow, Beatrice, Mrs. Larry Tremain, of
Springvale and Gwen, Mrs. Tom Parker, of
Plattsville, one brother Ronald Treleaven,
of ,Kitchener and one sister -in -Taw Dorothy
(Curran) Anderson, of Lucknow, 30 grand-
children
randchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Mc-
Callum Funeral home on Saturday, June 28
with Rev. John D.M. Wood, of Victoria
Street United officiating.' Interment Green
Hill Cemetery, Lucknow.
Flower bearers were granddaughters
Dale Robertson and Martha Curran and the
soloist was Lee McCallum.
Pallbearers were grandsons Edward
Johnston, Kevin Willis, John Curran, Jim.
Bissett, Murray Curran and Michael
Curran. ,
The Craft Festival on August 1 and 2 ns
fully booked with a few crafters on the
waiting
list.
A donati.in of $50 will be given to assist a
4-11 friendthrough the Ministry of
Agric.!lture.
The society agreed to enter a float in the
parade at Port Albert's Sesquicentennial
on August 2.
The public school work will be judged at
Lucknow Central School on July 2.
Volunteers also signed up to work the
north gate for the Tractor Pull on July 12
and 13.
Tickets were distributed for the Craft
Festival. There will be three draws on
August 2. First prize is two lawn chairs and
the second prize is a Coleman cooler and
the third prize is a 12 inch oscillating fan.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, July
15.
