Jean Broughton along with some other
members of the Sunset Circle Club of
£oderich enjoyed a bus trip to the Ger'itol
Follies in Hamilton on Tuesday.
Company, on Monday evening with
Gcrtie Park was Ethel Stewart of Goderich
and Margaret (Stewart) Cowan of Hudson,
Florida.
Sympathy is extended to the Curran'
families on the loss of their mother and
grandmother and great grandmother,
Eileen Curran on Wednesday, June 25 in
her 71st year.
A. J. and Cora Sherwood attended the
409 squadron reunion held at Guelph, the
meal was held at the Amber Cupola Steak
House. This reunion has been held for 33
years and they, have not missed this event
in that time.
Sympathy is also extended to Ruth
Bogues of Lucknow and Linda and Lorne
Emuinerton and family of Ripley on the
passing of their husband, father and
grandfather Bill Rogues. Linda, Lorne and
girls lived here about 15 years ago in the
house now owned by Tom Park. .
Euchre
There were 11 tables at the Seniors
euchre on Wednesday evening. High man
was Bert Russell who won the cut with
Raymond °Haggitt. Low, man was Tom
• Culbert, High lady was Louisa .Brindley
who won the cut with Helen Nicholson.
Low lady was Helen Russell, Happy
birthday was sung to Jim Errington; John
Harris, Cora Sherwood and Ken and Beth
Hodges,
Belle Mole and Eldon Culbert travelled
to Dorchester on Monday to participate in
the Seniors games. In the euchre they
placed in the top ten. Congratulations are
extended.
Tin and Wanda Hodges Deft on Friday
for a 10 -day visit in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
with friends. While there, they hope to do
some sight seeing, Also on a trip to the
Maritimes are Ray and Gwen Copeland
who left a week ago Saturday.
Lynda McNee, Tim, Michael and Kelly
have recently moved into the house
formerly owned by Irvine and Bev Storey
and family.
On Monday a barbeque was held at
the home of Bill and Marie Park for Todd's
18th birthday as well as to . celebrate
Canada's birthday.
Company with Lee and Don Shetler for a
few days were Leonard Snelgrove aind
Sophie MacDonald of Orillia.
1Vlemorial Service
The Dungannon Cemetery was abundant
with flowers on Sunday for the annual
memorial service. The music was provided
by Roberta Linskill` and the Dungannon
choir. The scripture reading 'by Mr,
Wil Tams. The address was: given by Rev..
Roberts. The Honour Roll for 1985-86 was
Mabel Killough, Mary Alton, Eileen
Fowler, William Caldwell, Carmen Hayd-
en, Ruby Cranston, William Petrie, Ross
Eedy, "Lauretta Treleaven, Jeremy Noble,
Harvey Andrews and Thelma Brown.
Happy birthday to the following people
with "birthdays in June, David Sproul,
Andy, Jason and Anita Phillips, Brenda
Woods, Joel Wright, Trisha Ohm, Rosalind

Good turnout for UCW meeting

16 at the home of Jean Errington with a
good attendance.
Delores Culbert opened the meeting
with the reading of a poem. Nora Saunders
read from Luke 22: 54-62. A hymn was also
sung: ,Another reading was given which
followed with a prayer by Tinie Logten
berg. She then conducted two ,quizzes, the
first a bible study quiz on the Disciples and
Apostles, of Jesus, , and another on the
Famous Canadian Fathers. They were
enjoyed and proved quite educational.
Collection was taken and dedicated by
Nora Saunders.
Roll call was op the churches' you have
visited. The minutes were , read and
adopted, and Helen Dawson gave the trea-
surer's report, She also read secretary
Florence Berry's report who has sent . out
80 cards so far.
The members decided •to have a Tupper-
ware party in September; Penny boxes for
World Development, service and relief
were handed out. Anyone wanting them
can ask a UCW nleinber. They will have to
be returned before the December meeting.
The meeting closed with the singing of
the benediction. A. lovely strawberry
dessert lunch followed served by the'. ladies
in charge.
