The new County of Huron tree cutting by-law, being By-law. No. 23,
1986, became effective April 4, `1986.
The'main changes from the previous by-law are
• 1) clar;`ification of the measurement provisions in determining
whether a tree has been cut undersized; and •
2) a requirement that every person, logger or fuelwood cutter
who -is planning: to, cut trees for purchase or sale shall notify the
County. Clerk's office in the prescribed form at least five (5) work -
ing days prior to. any cutting.
Copies of the by-law may be obtained, free of charge, from the Clerk's
office or the tree Commissioner.

a visit. They are the children of Edwin and
Janet McCutcheon..
We all know summer has really arrived
when school is out and .the children are now
at home for their summer holidays.

who passed their exams and are now going
on to a . higher education.

Grandmothers' meeting held
Trinity's UCW Grandmothers' meeting
was held June 12 at the home of Mrs.
Chester Hackett
The president Mrs. Blake Alton opened
the meeting with a reading and welcomed
everyone. Devotions were led. by Mrs.
Douglas Raynard assisted by Mrs. Lorne.
Hackett. The scripture lesson was in the
form of a dialogue on Psalrn 23, Following
the singing of a hymn Mrs. Raynard. read
Windows in Dark Places. The devotions
closed with 'a poem, Open a Window,
The roll call was answered by Something
of your Grandmothers. Mrs, Alton offered
prayer following the offering. Mrs. Cliff
Kilpatrick gave a reading. The service of
the least coin was observed. The study
book on Indians ' was given by Mrs. Fred
Phillips who also led in prayer.
The ,minutes of the May meeting were
approved as read. Mrs. Warren Zinn gave °
the treasurer's report. Mrs. Bill Andrew
Jr. announced the comingievents for July.
Mrs. Chester Hackett read two letters
concerning Sunday openings and the sale
of beer and wine in corner stores to be sent
to our member of parliament.
A hymn closed the meeting and a
delicious lunch was served by the hostess.
Complex lottery
The 31st 'draw was held on June 30 for
the Lucknow Sports Complex lottery. The
winners were: $500. Lucknow and District
Lions Club; $300 - Peter Van Dyke, RR 3
Goderich; $100 - Blair Leibold, Wingham
and $100 b Travis Brown, RR 1 Dungannon.
