Mrs. Isabel Carter and family of London
recently called`on her sister Jean Brough-
ton. The Carter family were on their return
from Stokes Bay. Also calling were son Don
and Jane Broughton, Becky and Robert of
London. Robert celebrated his first birth-
day on June 9. Tom and Delores Culbert
were dinner guests with Jean on Sunday.
Congratulations to Don and Karen Boak
on the birth of Ashley at Wingham
Hospital on Monday, June 16. Proud
grandparents are Jim and Phyllis Boak of
RR 1 Dungannon.
Peter Kowalicki returned on Friday from
a three week visit to his homeland of
Poland and Russia. Tom and Delores
Culbert and Jean Broughton met him at
London airport. While in London they
visited with Don and Jane Broughton,
Becky and Robert.
A few of our local seniors attended the
luncheon held on Tuesday, June 17 at
Huronview. Those who enjoyed the music
provided by the Huron Strings and others
were Eldon Culbert, Evelyn Errington,
Jean Broughton and Torn and Delores
Culbert.
The Dungannon Post Office has been
moved to the Saxony Carpet store located
beside the Imperial Bank of Commerce on
the main street. For those who enjoy the
use of the library, Irvine Eedy still operates
this from the store on Thursday afternoon.
Katie Bendig, daughter of Mike and
Val Bendig, celebrated her second
birthday on Sunday with a party at home in
Goderich. Grampa and Gramma, Bill and
Marie Park and Brad, Tom Park and Tim
and Wanda Hodges from Dungannon at -
(3 t Marie Park;,
tended as well as her aunt and uncles in
Goderich.
There were 12 tables of cards at the
Seniors Wednesday night euchre. High
lady was Lois Haggitt, low lady Aileen
Trommer. High man was Eldon Culbert,
low man was Gordon Jewell.
Sheila McCallum of Toronto visited over
the weekend with her mother Roberta
Linskill.
Visitors recently with Graham and
Bessie McNee were Mrs. Mary Funk and
Mrs. Priscilla Hewitt of Exeter.
Following the combined church service
at Donnybrook of the Dungannon and
Donnybrook congregations the Sunday
School picnic was held at Donnybrook
Park. The sports and games were in charge
of Dianne Park, the Sunday School super -
intendant. 44'
A birthday party was held in Seaforth on
Sunday for Amy Wiggins at the home of
George and Ruth Ribey. Those attending
from our area were Graham and Bessie
McNee, Art and Isabel Young, Tom and
Margaret Young and Mrs. Grace Gibson of
Lucknow.
A get-together was held on Thursday
evening at the United Church, when the
choir presented Mary Bere with a brass
paperweight and door knocker. The gifts
were in appreciation of her long involve-
ment with the choir and the work she so
capably carried out.
Former Lucknow resident dies
James Ernest Haslam
James Ernest (Ernie) Haslam of Toronto
passed away June 8, 1986. He was the
beloved husband of Mary Anderson,
brother of Frances, Mrs. E. W. Bucahan
and Mary, Mrs. W. V. Gotheridge, both of
Calgary.
The late Mr. Haslam is also mourned by
the families of the late Mrs. Denis Donnel-
ly, (Isobel Anderson) of Pinkerton, Mrs. I.
A. Switzer (Grace Anderson) of Ottawa and
Tom Anderson of London.
A private family committal service fol-
lowing cremation took place at Greenhill
Cemetery, Lucknow on June 11, conducted
by Rev. Warren McDougall.
Alexander Ryan Miltenburg
Alexander Ryan Miltenburg, infant son
of Don and Jennifer Miltenburg of R. R. 7
Lucknow died peacefully at his home on
Tuesday, June 17, 1986. He was born June
2, 1986.
He is survived by his parents. He is also
survived by his grandparents Ries and
Marie Miltenburg of Ashfield Township,
Dennis and Kathy Sinnett of Detroit,
Michigan; two great grandmothers and
several aunts and uncles.
Alex was buried in Kingsbridge Cemet-
ery on June 18, 1986 with Father Ed
Dentinger officiating.
John Ava Switzer
John Ava Switzer of New Westminster,
B.C. and formerly of Kinloss Township,
died on June 1, 1986 at age 86.
Born in Kinloss Township on October 25,
1899, he was the son of the late Garrett
Teskey Switzer and the late Margaret Ann
Greer. Mr. Switzer is survived by four
nieces and nephews and several cousins.
He is predeceased by one brother Ray,
two sisters Ena (Mrs. Lane Treleaven) and
Complex draw
The 30th draw of the Lucknow and
District Arena Complex Lottery was
held on June 23. The winners were:
$500, Dorothy Linnell of Strathroy;
$300, Church Dodges (Ron Hodges,
Dungannon); $100, Glen and Gord Robb
of RR 3 Goderich and $100, Mayfair
Lottery Club.

Following cremation, the burial took
place at the family plot at the South Kinloss
Cemetery on June 21 with Rev. W.
McDougall officiating.
