Mrs. John Gaunt was a Saturday visitor with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson. Callers on Sunday on Mr. and Mrs. Emerson were Bill Bushell, Mrs. Alice Moore, Bill Uuldriks, Doris Wilkens, Miss Darlene Emerson and friend Mark Thomson of London. WMS Meeting The June meeting of the WMS was held at the home of Mrs., Walter Elliott. The call to worship was given and all sang This is My Father's World. The scripture reading was from Luke 15: 11-32 and was given by Mrs. Elliott. The medita- tion was read by Mrs. Elliott followed by a reading by Mrs. Ross. The topic of Transportation and Coin- munications was given by Mrs. Norma Rintoul. The offering was taken and the prayer given by Mrs. Archie Purdon, along with a reading by Mrs. Elliott. A hymn was sung and the closing prayer was given by Mrs. Elliott. The roll call was a verse with the word "Father" in it. A reading during the meeting on the origins of Father's Day was presented by Mrs. Norma Rintoul. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gaunt, Graeme and Jennifer of Chatham and Mrs. Ed Carey of Kitchener were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Purdon attended the wedding in London of their nephew Garry Robinson on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Beecroft of East Wawanosh spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Archie Hertel of Kitchener and visited their daughter Karen. Mr. and Mrs. Carl McClenaghan on Saturday attended the Penny Pickard wedding at Listowel with the reception at Kurtzville Community Centre. Mrs. Jean Tiffin and Mrs. Isabel Tiffin of Lucknow visited for a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McMillan of Sarnia. They returned home on Saturday. Hand book discussed at WIrneeting. The Dungannon Women's Institute held their June meeting in the Nile church basement. To start the meeting, Donna Young and Bessie McNee served desserts, tea and coffee. The president Elmira Finnigan opened the meeting in the usual fashion. The roll call was answered by 15 members tell `Something I have learned from the handbook'. Newer members found difficul- ty finding the answers they were looking for. Alma Black read the minutes and treasurer's report. Correspondence includ- ed an invitation to Auburn WI dessert euchre. A bus trip for a boat trip is planned for July 29. If you are not a member and would like to join us for the day phone Winnifred 524-4971 or Willetta 529-7705. Lois Lee was given permission to display and sell tickets on the Institute quilt at the "Old Nile School' reunion in July. Ila Crozier reported on the District annual held in Belgrave. Peggy Purdon offered to make a quilt block for the Erland Lee Home and the members were also asked for quilt blocks for the Huron County Museum in Goderich. Beth Rutledge gave a good motto on 'The Value of Our Organization'. A panel composed of Winnifred Girvin, Beth Rutledge and Bessie McNee gave a splendid review on the Women's Institute Handbook, with many question answered. Hopefully newer members will be helped with this discussion. The Royal anthem closed the meeting.
