The 1986 Blake Family Reunion was held
at the Stratford Park on Sunday, June 8
with 53 in attendance.
The president Barry Morrison welcomed
everyone and after a delicious lunch the
business was conducted. A minute silence
was observed for all of our departed family
members. The minutes of the last meeting
were read and treasurer's report was
given.
It was decided to hold the reunion at the
same place next year on Sunday, June 14,
1987.
The election of officers was as follows:
president, Ralph Morrison; vice president,
Murray Irvin; secretary -treasurer, Glenda
Morrison and sports, the Webster family.
The Morrison family then conducted
some exciting races and relay games with
prizes for everyone.
Races, three and under, Stephen Trem-
aine, Jason Pentland, Lynn Irvin and Lee
Morrison tied; four and five year olds,
Heather Irvin and Daryl Aitchison tied,
Jamie Tremaine; eight and 13 year old,
Jodi Webster, Shane Webster, Kevin and
Janice Webster tied; ladies hop on one
foot, Sandra Morrison, Joanne Pentland,
Carolyn Morrison; men's hop on one foot,
Murray Morrison, Roger Morrison, Ralph
Morrison; five and under three-legged
race, Heather Irwin and Daryl Aitchison;
Jamie and Stephen Tremaine, Amy Blake
and Jason Pentland; open three-legged
race, Doug and Daryl Aitchison, Kevin and
Shane Webster, Murray and Heather Irvin.
Five and under kick the slipper, Daryl
Aitchison, Jamie Tremaine, Heather Irvin;
eight - 13 year olds kick the slipper, Janice
Webster, Kevin Webster; water cup relay,
Allan Webster's team won; spoon relay,
Kevin Webser's team won; watermelon
toss, Kevin's team won; water balloon
toss, Amy Blake and Daryl Aitchison;
suitcase contest, Jacqueline Pentland;
guessing the number of jelly beans, Janet
Johnstone; guessing the number of nuts
and bolts, Bernadean Ritchie; holding the
most bingo chips, Marie Webster.
The children also had a candy scramble
and played ball until supper.
Webster clan
picnic at Falls
On Sunday, June 15 the Webster Clan
gathered at the Falls Reserve Conservation
Area for their annual picnic when 48
attended.
Steven and Anne Andrew and Bill and
Suzanne Andrew conducted a variety of
games and races for all the children
present. They enjoyed running races,
wheel barrow races, three legged races and
two relays, one with eggs and spoons and
another with sponges and water.
Afterwards there were candies and
prizes for everyone.
The ladies served a delicious meal
smorgasbord style after which president
Allan Andrew welcomed all to the picnic.
The names of members who had passed
away since last year were read. In memory
of Elva Webster, Sam Gibson, Fred Reid,
Milvert Reid, Mary Alton, Howard Reid,
Elliott Fells, Jack Bain, William Reid Sr.
Richard Ahrens and Harvey Webster, a
minute silence was observed.
Special prizes were presented to oldest
and wisest gentleman, Watt Webster;
oldest and wisest lady, Ruby Webster;
largest family, Bill and Pat Thomson;
coming the farthest, Don and Louise Stroh
and family; youngest child, Holly Andrew,
daughter of Allan and Linda Andrew.
The business meeting followed at which
time the following officers were appointed
for 1988: president, Steven Andrew;
assistant, Allan Andrew; secretary, Berna-
dean Ritchie; treasurer, Alex Andrew;
memoriam, Watt Webster and Elsie Irvin.
It was decided to have the picnic at the
Falls Reserve Conservation Area in 1988 on
the third Sunday in June.
All enjoyed the special events of the
afternoon and renewing friendships.
