HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Lucknow Sentinel, 1986-06-18, Page 7For er contractor dies Arthur Thomas Gilmore Arthur Thomas Gilmore of Lucknow died at University Hospital in London on June 12, 1986, at the age of 61. A former plumbing and heating con- tractor, he was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Lucknow. Born in Ashfield Township on November 27, 1924, he was a son of the late Robert Edmund Gilmore and the former Teresa Kelly of Ashfield. He is survived by his wife, the former Rita Kelleher of London, whom he married on September 5, 1964 at St. Peter's Cathedral in London. He is also survived by a daughter, Rosemary Huber of Lucknow, a son, Thomas Gilmore of Lucknow, and one grandson, Nicholas Huber. Three brothers, James of Ashfield Town- ship, Gerald of London and Edward of Calgary and three sisters, Frances Gilmore of London; Helen Pearson of Dunnville and Margaret Halloran of Alexandria, Virginia also survive. He was predeceased by his parents, and one sister, Dell Kretz. The funeral mass was conducted by Father Ed Dentinger Saturday, June 14, 1986 at 11 a.m. from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Lucknow. Pallbearers were Basil Kelleher, Tom Gilmore, Leonard Maclnnes, Beverly Mc- Nay, Joe Van Osch and Peter Van Osch. Burial in Kingsbridge Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow. Arts and craft store features tea room Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Alton (nee Donna Drennan) who were KINTAIL married on Saturday, June 14. Many neighbours and friends helped celebrate this joyful occasion at the reception in the Ripley arena. We all like to wish Henry Sloetjes a speedy recovery after being a patient at University Hospital. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lalonde, on the death of Gene's Father Henry Lalonde. It was fun for all at the St. Joseph's Parish Kingsbridge picnic which was held at Huronia Camp on Sunday, June 15. John S. Dalton did a solo in a concert of young violinists put on by the Bluewater String School held at the North St. United Church in Goderich on Sunday, June 15. On June 4 Toni Keuls opened the King's Plate, an arts and crafts store with tea HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALBERT [STEVE CHAMNEY] .thinrffe O1t?i`.... room along highway 21 in Kingsbridge. She is promoting local artists and crafts people and has wooden toys and many more interesting things. The tea room features delicious home made pies and muffins with a freshly brewed cup of coffee or tea. Toni is still searching for more unusual crafts such as wrought iron ornaments, leather work etc. If you are interested call the King's Plate at 529-7708. Toni invites you to come and browse around. Maybe you'll find some- thing that could be the ideal gift.
