Horse pull enjoyed in dalton
Several local teamsters and horse en-
thusiasts attended a horse pull at the farm
of Ken and Judy Shortreed of Walton.
Friends and neighbors gathered at
Henry and Bernice Drennan's farm Satur-
day night for a stag and doe in honor of
their daughter Donna and Stuart Alton
who will -be married June 14.
Bob and Jean Simpson and Donald and
Edith Simpson left Friday for a short trip
to Sault Ste. Marie to visit with relatives.
They also stopped at Milford Bay to visit
with Bob and Jean's daughter and son-in-
law Gary and Jay Kaye and family.

Amberley area opened the school June 7 as
a store for crafts, antiques and collec-
tables. The store is called "Duckies" and
offers a large variety of crafts made by
people in Huron and Bruce Counties. The
crafts range from quilts and baby clothes
to Christmas decorations and wall
hangings.
Mingled in with the crafts are antiques
and collectables ranging from rockers and
chairs to pictures and dishes and many
delicious items including sugar -free muf-
fins for those who can't eat sugar.
The informal display encourages people
to browse around freely.
Mr. Fillmore plans to have the store
open just on weekends until the end of
June. After it will be open Monday to
Saturday 10-6 p.m. with his daughter Heidi
operating the store.
Several people from the area attended
the CWL Charity Auction of Sacred Heart
Parish in Wingham. They had a successful

auction- despite the weather. There were
over 150 buyers and they raised close to
$5,000. This money is being used to help in
the construction of a new church.

have moved into the Amberley area. Mr.
&d Mrs. Earl Chilton have moved into the

and family and Bob's mother Erma have
moved into the former Danny Rose house.

ple Grove attended a reunion luncheon in
Bradford on Wednesday.
Wanda Gawley and Marjorie Thompson
visited on Wednesday in Elmira with
Marlene Greig.
Catherine Collins returned home on Mon-
day from an enjoyable trip to England and
Ireland.

well, visited with Gladys Mason, who is a
patient in Kincardine Hospital.
Catherine Scott spent the weekend,,with
her daughter Frances Watke and family.
