ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT
PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE
The Council of the Village of Lucknow cordially invites interested per-
sons to attend a public information centre between the hours of 4:00 p.m.
and 8:00 p.m. on
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25, 1986
in the
Town Hall Auditorium
The Village is considering two locations as possible sites for a
sewage treatment facility. Site 1 is on the North part of Lot 12, Con-
cession 12, Township of Ashfield, and' Site 4 is on the South part of
Lots 53 & 54, Concession 1, in the Township of Kinloss, as shown on
the following sketch.

Holyrood WI meet recently
W.I. Meeting
The Holyrood Women's Institute met on
Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Agnes Hodgins.
The president Mrs. Harold Smith was in
charge and the meeting opened with the
Ode and the Mary Stewart Collect. The roll
call was, A skill my Mother taught me.
Mrs. Douglas McEwan read the minutes
of the previous meeting and gave the
financial report. An invitation was read
from Ripley to their Hospital Tea on June
17. A Holyrood 4-H girl Donna Johnston
was chosen to attend the Regional Con-
ference at Centralia. .
The July meeting will take the form of
an outing to Southampton to visit the Hob-
by Fair and Craft Show in the morning.
The afternoon will be spent at the
Museum, and at the.. end of August,
members will attend a play at Blyth. Final
plan§ were made for catering to a wedding
reception. •
Mrs. Charles Murray gave an in-
teresting report on the Bruce South
District Annual at Teeswater. The theme
was, Let there be peace on earth and let it
begin with me. Mrs. Murray Keith sang
the solo, Let there be Peace on Earth. The
attendance at the meeting was approx-
imately 100. The president Mrs. William
McPherson was in hospital so the first
Vice -President Mrs. William McInnes took
charge. Mrs. MacPherson was
remembered with a gift.
Mrs. Ellwood Elliotdt was director and
gave the topic Ontario and Agriculture
which dealt with the food industry, farm-
ing and other services. This was prepared
by Miss May Boyle was read by Mrs.
Charles Murray, entitled No One's heart
will harden by planting seeds -in Friend-
ships Garden. Y
Mrs. Ellwood Elliott gave a humorous
reading and also conducted a contest and
gave the courtesy remarks.
0 Canada and Grace closedthe meeting
and a delicious , lunch was served by the
hostess.
People Report
Mr. Jack Scott formerly of Concession
10, is a patient in London University
Hospital having surgery. We send get well
wishes Jack.
Mrs Glen Haldenby was in London with
her son Eric Haldenby who underwent
surgery at Victoria Hospital. We send our
get well wishes, Eric.
We are sorry that Mrs. Bill Burt had a
fall at her home and cracked a bone in her
foot. She is in a cast. Sorry Bernice.
Friends from here were guests at the
wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. David
Wiley (formerly Mary Eadie) on Saturday
evening at the Lucknow and District Com-
munity Centre. The Holyrood Women's In-
stitute also served the 11 p.m. meal.
Mrs. Midford Wall, Mrs. Ronald
Thacker and Edna and May Boyle attend-
ed the South Saugeen meeting at St.
Peter's Church in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Mr. Ernie Hanna of Concession 10, Mrs.
Arthur Phillips of Fonthill and Mrs. Frank
Moulden of here flew to Colorado to attend
the Golden Wedding of their cousins Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Purvis at the First
Presbyterian Church there. Other cousins
from Oregon and Montana also attended
the happy occasion. They returned home
Friday night.
Friends here were sorry to know that
Mrs. A Phillips of Fonthill (Jean Lane)
had the misfortune to break her arm and
will be in a cast for six weeks.
Mrs. Bob Brooks of Listowel visited with
Miss Winnifred Percy.
Mr, Harry Jewitt of Sarnia visited on
Friday with Mrs. John Barr.
Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Edbert
Bushell during the week were Mr. and
Mrs. Melville Husk and Terry Burt of here
and Miss Mary Schefter of Kincardine.
Chapterfor Bright Children meet
The Bruce County Chapter of the
Assoc ation for Bright Children held a
general Meeting on May 8 at Huron
Heights Public School in Kincardine.
A brief, business meeting was held to
elect' a new executive. President, Jami
Sharp; Vice -Presidents, Barb Vaughan
and , eranie ,Cooke; Treasurer, Kathie
Burkett; Secretary,, Ellen Zavits, and
Publicity, Joan Sutton.
A video called Pearls • in the Alphabet
Soup was viewed and discussed. This video
showed how children who are gifted, or
talented in such areas as creativity,
athletics, mechanics, social skills and
academics can develop to their maximum
potential -
Several new members joined, newslet-
ters were distributed, and a report was
given. from S.FhA.C. (Special Education
Advisory Committee.)
The next meeting will be held on Mon-
day, June 16th at 7:30 p.m. at Bruce Cen-
tral School in Underwood. Guest speaker
will be Betty McCulloch who will discuss
new guidelines for secondary and elemen-
tary schooling for the gifted. There will be
a discussion period and refreshments.
