Ridgetown graduate
Eric Haldenby, graduated May 16, 1986
from Ridgetown College of Agricultural
Technology with a diploma in Agricultural
Production and Management, Field Crops
and Livestock. Eric is the son of ,Mr. and
Mrs. Glen Haldenby of R. R. 1 Holyrood.
Carolyn Watters/Shepherd on May 10,
1986 attained her Ph.D (Doctor of
Philosophy) in Computer Science, at the
convocation of the Technical University cif
Nova Scotia in Haiixax. Her thesis was on
"Extended Sequential Search Model For
Hardware Based Information Retrieval."
She also received a post graduate award —
The Mobil Oil Canada Scholarship in the
Faculty of Engineering. Previously she
achieved the following degrees from the
University of Western Ontario — B.Sc
(Chemistry); MSc (Computer Science);
MLS (Library & Information Science). She
will present a paper on Computer Science in
West Germany in August. Carolyn married
Dr. Michael Shepherd, lives in Halifax.
They have a family of three children. She is
a daughter of Dr, and Mrs. W.N. Watters of
Goderich.

Mr. and Mrs. Glen Haldenby and Sara
and Kyla Biglow, visited at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Haldenby and
Kimberley of Kincardine Township on
Sunday. Also visiting were Mr. and Mrs.
Kevin Cannon and Megan of Kapaskasing
and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Haldenby and
family of Aylmer.
Sara Haldenby stayed over the holiday
with Kyla Biglow of the 10th concession.
Mrs. Vera Hodgins of London renewed
acquaintances here over the weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Bushell spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Nielsen
and family, in Peterborough.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guest visited on
Sunday with their uncle Joseph Guest at
Brucelea Haven, Walkerton.
Mrs. John Barr, Mr. and Mrs. jack Barr,
Murray Barr, Michele • Hodgins of here;
Donald Barr of Waterloo; Mr. and Mrs.
Gary Fair and Jason; Mr. and Mrs. Henry
Van de Klippe and April of Kincardine
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Morley Bushell
and their family of Wingham. on Sunday on
the occasion of the Bushells' 35th wedding
anniversary.
Blyth Festival Singers at hall
That's Entertainment! ... And that is
what the Blyth Festival Singers will be
doing at their final concert of .the season in
Blyth Memorial Hall on Sunday, June 8 at
8 p.m.
Entertaining their audience is what the
choir loves to do and for this concert they
have chosen a repertoire of easy -listening
music that includes Broadway hits, well-
known pop songs and spirituals. Let the
choir enterain you with "The Best of
Buddy Holly" or the Cole Porter classic,
Don't Fence Me In.
The Festival Singers are a 40 -member
choir composed of people from Huron and
Perth counties. Now completing its sixth
season, it is directed by well-known choral
conductor Laurie Rowbotham and accom-
panied by Clinton -area native Louise
McGregor.
Tickets for -this performance are avail-
able from choir members, the Blyth Saga
(523-4331) and the Fesvial Box Office (523-
9300). Adult tickets are $5, children $1.50:
Plan to join the -choir for refreshments
following the performance.
Lucknow loses season opener
Lucknow started the season on May 23
by travelling to Goderich and losing 9 - 3.
Lucknow only trailed 4 - 3 until the sixth
inning when Goderich scored five runs.
Clint Murray pitched three innings
allowing three hits while walking two
batters. Keith Todd pitched three innings
and allowed four hits and walked five
batters.
Lucknow had one hit each from Duayne
and Steve Porter, Rob Crich, Brad Rhody,
Clint Murray, Jason Stanley, Darryl Gib-
son and Chris MacDonald,

Debbie Campbell, home economist and
lecturer at Centralia College will be the
demonstrator for these two hour presenta-
tions.

Tuesday, June 3 at the Seaforth Legion
Hall at 1:30 and 7:30 p.m. and on
Wednesday, June 4 at Wingham, St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 1:30 and

Dungannon UCW holds May meeting
The Dungannon UCW meeting was held at
the home of Doris Hodges.
Emily Drennan read from 2 Corinthians 9
verses 6 and 7 and a skit "Time Talent and
Treasure" was enacted by -Donna Young,
Emily Drennan, Roberta Linskill and Tinie
Logtenberg.
The skit showed how to become involved
with people around • the world, and in the
community. Stewardship means sharing
time, talents and treasures.
To conclude the devotion, Roberta Linskill
read a poem, "The Key To Living Is Given"
and the offering was taken and dedicated by
Emily Drennan.
President Nora Saunders chaired the
business and the treasurers report was
given by Tinie Logtenberg.
Ideas for money -making projects are to
be brought to the next meeting. Tickets for
the quilt were handed out.
Members were asked to donate baking
towards the yard sale on June 7. Sept. 30 is
the fall'rally at the Nile United Church.
