Neighbours hold shower for bride-tobe in township hall
Saturday afternoon was a most pleasant
day for Mary Eadie when neighbours and
friends gathered at the township hall at
Holyrood to honour Mary with a bridal
shower.
Wedding bells, streamers and summer
flowers gave a nice welcoming touch.
Betty Smith was chairperson and she
extended a warm welcome to all present.
Readings were given with good advice to
the bride by Joan Murray, Wilma Elliott,
Bess Maulden. Piano numbers were
provided by Donna Johnston. A contest
organized by Hilda Ackert called Pass the
parcel, was won by lucky gals Eva Burt and
Sara Haldenby.
Edna Boyle played the wedding march
and the bride and her attendants Cheryl
Cottrill and Connie Eadie took their places.
Mary Boyle read a self composed address
to Mary.
Helping with the gifts were Shelley
Johnston, Reagan Carruthers and Erin
Eadie. Placing the gifts was Imelda
Murray. Donna Johnston made the dainty
hat with the pretty bows and Mary
modelled it.
She thanked everyone for coming and for
all the gifts that she will find so useful in
their new home at Beamsville. She also in-
vited everyone to a trousseau tea on Satur-
day next at the home of her parents. She al-
so expressed appreciation to the neighbour
ladies who had arranged the shower.
