Many attend WI district
annual meeting in Teeswater
Those attending the Bruce South Wom-
en's Institute District Annual at Teeswater
from Whitechurch were: Helen Currie,
Jean McGuire, Merle Wilson, Mae John-
ston, Catherine Wilson, Evelyn Gibb,
Agnes. Farrier and Rena Fisher.
Last Thursday three local WI members
joined 29 other WI members on a trip to
England, ,Those 4 from here were' Mrs.
Russel McGuire, Agnes Farrier and Mrs:
John Currie.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin and Dave Gibb
travelled to University Hospital, London
where Mrs. Tiffin had a check up last
Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Alan Falconer have sold
their house and are moving to Goderich
where he works at the Museum. Unable to
buy a suitable house, they have bought a
lot • and are going to build.
Callers on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Emerson were Mrs. Johnston Conn
and Mrs. Gertrude Tiffin of Wingham and
Alfred Patterson of Lucknow.
We are pleased to report that Charlie
Taylor was able to return to his apartment
in Lucknow last week , from Wingham
Hospital.
Sunday Callers on Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Emerson were JimMorrison and Adam of
Lucknow and his mother, Mrs. Connie
Morrison of South Porcupine.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Emerson, Sharon
and Brenda of St. Catharines visited. with
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson for the
holiday.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McBurney of East
Wawanosh were Sunday callers on Mr. and
Mrs. Victor Emerson. .
Stanley, Paul and Denise Kikkert called
on Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emerson on
Thursday.
Mrs. Alice Moore went to Victoria
Hospital on Monday where she had treat-
ment and arrived, home Friday.
Mrs. Doris Wilkins spent Monday and
Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Emer-
son as Mrs. Emerson was laid up.
Tim Falconer and Alison Wardrop,
members . of the Lucknbw School Senior
band were on a bus tour with two buses,
each one having 40 band members. They
Left on. Tuesday and played at. Belgrave,
Brussels,, -Milverton and Stratford where
the stayers at the ratite'. On Wednesday
and Thursday they pia red .in Kitchener at
the Con°eatoga inn; They also. Visited
Shakespeare and New Hamburg. On
Thursday, they played two concerts in
Kitchener and returned honie after a busy
tour.

Walkerton, Mrs. Michael Chapeskie of
Kincardine, Mrs. Archie Hertel of Kitch-
ener, Mrs. Mel McKay of Kitchener, Mrs. •
E. W. ;$eecroft of VVbitee.hu> ohi and, Mrs.
Bill "McIntyre of London held a surprise
shower foi Dawn Webster at her house in
London. After the shower, everyone went
to visit Mrs. Glenn Sinnamon in University
Hospital.
Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Elliott were Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Elliott, Leslie, Jeffery, Matthew and
Rachel of Brussels and Mr. and Mrs. Barry
Elliott, and family, Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Laidlaw, Michelle and Jason of Dorchester.
Guests on Sunday with Mrs. Norma
Rintoul were Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul,
Steven, Scott and Stuart of West Wawa -
nosh.
On Friday 'For Sale' signs were erected
on the manse lawn by Hutton for the sale of
the Whitechurch Presbyterian Manse on
Highway 86.

welcomed all visitors and anniversary
preacher, former ' minister Rev. Derwyn
Hill of Mississauga to special church
_services.
A number of hymns were sung at the
morning service. Prayers were offered and
scripture reading was taken from John 10:
1- 10. The responsive Psalm was also read.
The sermon, That They Might Have Life,
was given by Rev. Derwyn Hill.
At the evening service, Mrs. Kathy
Gibson and Mrs. Jeanette Wardrop sang a
duet called Love is When.
Everyone was invited to share in a social
time in the Sunday. School room following
the evening service.
Rev. Derwyn and Mrs. Hill of Missis-
sauga were dinner guests with Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Simpson and family. They were
supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Archie
Purdon.
Callers on Sunday on Mr. and Mrs. Vic
Emerson were Mrs. Kathleen Gibson, Rev.-
Derwyn and Mrs. Hill, Mrs. Doris Wilkins
and John Jamieson of Listowel.
Weekend guests with Mr. and Mrs. Bill
`Gibson were grandchildren Robbie and
Jamie Frank •of Teeswater and Katherine
Sartori of Goderich.
Visitors on Sunday with Mr. and Mrd,
E Wr-Beecroft were Ronald Beecroft,
Kevin, Sharman and Heather Beecroft,
