Thelma Bertha Rebecca Brown
Thelma Bertha Rebecca Brown of
Canning Street in Lucknow died in Univer-
sity Hospital in London on May 1, 1986.
She was 81.
Mrs. Brown was an active member of the
Lucknow community as she was a member
of the Lucknow United Church, church
-UCW, Horticultural Society and the Town
and Country Club.
Born in West Wawanosh Township on
April 26, 1905, she was the daughter of the
late Jacob Reed and the .late Louise Selby.
She married Wilbur Brown of Dungannon
at the Dungannon United. Church .Manse
on November 9, 1929. They .lived in a farm
on the fourth concession of Ashfield until
1968 when they retired and moved to
Lucknow.
She issurvived by sons Kenneth of
Bellvieu, Washington, and Wayne of
Montreal,, Quebec. She is also survived by
one ,sister, Ann Linklater of Goderich and
grandchildren Alan, Susanne and Nancy of
Bellvieu,. Washington and Kimberly and
Gregory of Montreal.
Mrs. Brown was predeceased by broth-
ers Marvin, Russel, William, Alvin and
one sister ,'Lilly (Mrs. Joe Petrie).
The funeral service was held at the
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Horne
in ,Lucknow on May 5. Rev. McDougall of
the Lucknow United Church officiated.
The flower bearers were Kimberly 'and
Gregory Brown. . The pallbearers were
Eldon Bradley, Fraser MacKinnon, Alex
Andrew, Armstrong Wilson, Jack Petrie
and Garvie Reed.
Interment was at the , Dungannon Cem-
etery.
Howard McGuire
Howard McGuire, formerly of RR 6
Lucknow and Stratford, died at the Hillside
Nursing Horne on Monday, May 5, 1986 in
his 90th year.
Born in Huron Township, Mr. McGuire
was the son of the late William John
McGuire and the late Valencia Ensign. He
-farmed at RR -6 Lucknow for many years
and' -was the former reeve of Huron
Township'.'
Mr. McGuire ;y►as, predeceased by his
first wife, the former Jean Bell :and• by his
second wife,. Anne (Ro ulston) Borden. He
was also predeceased by .one daughter,
Verna, in childhood; one grandson, Russell
Brock McGuire; three brothers and two
sisters.
He is survived by two• sons, Arnold
James and his wife Margaret of Sudbury;
Lovell Howard and his wife Isla of Brant-
ford; nine grandchildren; 1-,V great grand-
children; one brother, Walter McGuire of
Elsie, Michigan; and one sister, Mrs. Ethel
Lashmet of Detroit.
The funeral service was held at the
Heinbuck Funeral Home in Stratford on
May .7 with Pastor John Arnott of the
Jubilee Christian Ministry officiating.
Interment was: at the., Ripley Cemetery..

which gave the ladies thought-provoking.

Nimmo .closed her remarks with prayer.
„In ' Memoriam for a recently deceased
member, Mayme McKay, was given by
Jessie MacKinnon followed by a moment
of silence.
Minutes of previous meeting were read
by . the secretary Effie Davey and the
treasurer, Jessie Robinson, gave her
report:
Resolutions to be voted on at the annual
meeting in Ottawa were discussed and a
decision asto how the delegates are to vote
was made.
Jessie Robinson gave a review of the
Citadel Insurance Seminar she attended at
Stayner April` 14.
Ladies of the church served a delicious
dinner and were thanked by Margaret
Ruttle.
Musical numbers by Bell Ringers from,
Kincardine Township -Tiverton Putblic f
School and two solos by Ruby, Hamilton
and Judy Chreptyk with 'Laura Taylor' as
pianist were melt `enjoyed.
"Tales' told about cherished memorab-
ilia brought by a number of the ladies
proved -most interesting.
