The Anglican Church Women held their
spring thankoffering meeting at the church
•on Thursday evening. The ladies from
Kinloss UCW (United), Bervie UCW,
Kinlough Presbyterian WMS, Kinlough
- Perdecostal Church, Kingarf ACW, Ripley
ACW and Lucknow ACW were special
guests for the occasion.
In the absence of the president through
illness, the vice president Mrs. Roy
Collins, presided and extended a welcome
to all and read the scripture.
The opening hymn was Joyful, Joyful
We Adore Thee. A group composed of
Mrs... Eric Thacker, Tara. Lucas and Alicia
Thacker, Mts. Fred Page, Mrs. David
Haldenby, Mrs. Roy Collins, Jennifer and
Angela Collins sang two numbers Bloom
Bloom and I Love You to Smile, with
recorded accompaniment.
Readings were given by Mrs. Bruce
Bushell, Mrs, Albert Colwell, Mrs. Eliza-
beth Fair, Mrs. Cliff Roulston. Mrs. Glen
McLelland sang two solos accompanied by
Mrs. Jim McEwan.
Guest Speaker
At this time the guest speaker, Maria
Dalthn and her mother of Kingsbridge
were welcomed. Maria introduced herself
and spoke .on Haiti where she spent ten
days which were the most exciting of her
life.
She showed three sound films and had a
question and answer period between each
one. Everyone present was so interested in
this missionary outreach.
Mrs. David Haldenby thanked Maria
and wished her God's blessing in the .days
ahead as she hopes to return. She was
presented with a Good News New Testa-
ment and the evenings offering to further
•the work there for which she expressed her
• appreciation.
The closing hymn was, Lord Dismiss Us
with Thy Blessing, followed by prayer.

Miss May Boyle greeted the ladies and
Miss Edna Boyle played for the hymns.
All were invited to the Sunday School
room for a time of food and fellowship.
Each group expressed their appreciation
for being invited and having, such an
enjoyable evening.

Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Nicholson and Lois were Mr. and Mrs.
Harold Slessor of Tiverton, Allan and
Brandon Nicholson of Wallaceburg, Mr.
and Mrs. Mel King of Georgetown.
Mrs. Douglas McEwan had ladies at her
home on Monday afternoon for a Tupper-
ware party.
Mrs. William MacPherson had a few
days in Kincardine and District Hospital
after a fall at her home. She has a fractured
knee and is in a cast. We send best
wishes, Lorraine.

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nicholson and Lois
were dinner guests on Sunday with. Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Campbell in Amberley
where Jack's mother, Mrs. Millie Camp-
bell celebrated her birthday. Many happy
returns,
Congratulatons to Mr. and Mrs. Steven
Eckenswiller who were married on Satur-
day at Chepstow. Folks from here attended
the wedding and also the reception at
Formosa.
, A number from here attended the
Lucknow School Band concert on Friday
evening and enjoyed it very much. A great
deal of credit is due to these voune people
, and their leader, Mr. Gordon Cayley.
• M. and Mrs. Jim Schneller of White-
church visited on Thursday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Haldenby.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith of Seaforth
visited with Mr, and Mrs. Don Gillespie.
Congratulations to Mrs. Ina Eadie of the
Bray Lodge, Wingham, who celebrated her
88th birthday on Friday. We all send our'
love too, Ina. She was a former Holyrood
resident.
Donald Barr of Waterloo visited with his
mother Mrs. John Barr on Sunday and they
both went to Wingham to spend the
afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Morley
Bushell. Donaldreturned to Waterloo and
the Bushells brought her mother, Mrs..
Barr home and called on Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Barr in the evening.

The May meeting of the Lucknow Pres-
byterian afternoon W.M,S. was held on .
Wednesday, May 7 at Pinecrest Manor.
Mrs. Cyril. Bown opened the meeting by
yvelioming all members and residents. She
read an appropriate Spring poem, so
suitable for such a beautiful May 'after-
dbOn.
A hymn was sung followed by a prayer
and the Lord's Prayer in unison.
• Mrs. Jun Aitchison read a poem on
• -Mother's Day. Mrs. Bert Moffat and MO.
Jean Conley gave several lovely musical
numbers on the piano and auto harp.
Mrs Austin Loroe sang a solo, The
Lord's Prayer, accompanied by Mrs.
Moffat,
Mrs. Bill Henderson and Mrs. Bert
Moffat played several lovely duets on the
piano. •
Mrs, Clara Crowston gave the offertory
• prayer, Happy Birthday was sung to all
residents celebrating birthdays this month.
Several lovely old hymns were sung
accompanied by Mrs. Moffat and in which
the residents participated whOle.heartedIy.

painting, field clearing Or general clean up.
.The cost is ,only $90, per day for, a four
person crew. Crew members are-. respon-
sible for . their own transportation and
lunches. •
Young people between the ages of 15-24
with unlimited energy and a willingness
to learn and work are needed'or Agricrew.
Some farm work experience is required.
