Whitechurch residents hold
annual spin,gwater meeting
,The ' annual Spring water, meeting .of
Whitechurch Water' System was held April
27 at the, Whitechurch 'Community: Mem-
orial Hall with an attendance of 11
Dave Gibb; president, was in charge of
the meeting. Mrs. Cathy, Lubbers, secret-
ary, read the minutes Oldie last meeting.
The treasurer's report was given by
Kathleen Gibson. The total assets are
$3.,408.20. It was decided to have only one
'spring meeting per year with the mainten-
ance bills ,also being paid then.
The rides of the system were discussed
and some changes were made. The new
maintenance fee due date, will be April 1.
The notice of spring ,meeting will be;put
on bills and advertised two weeks ahead.in
local papers. .Any residence wishing to
extend the water service . to- provide for
cattle, horses, pigs, trailers and duplexes
are requested to make .application to board.
'Dave Stapleton was chairman for the
election. Mrs. Lubbers and Mrs. Gibson
were elected to remain in present offices.
Dave Gibb and Dave. Stapleton are the
maintenance men .Angus Falconer is to, be
asked to be .a : -maintenance man.
The directors are, Gertrude Durnin,
Dave Stapleton., Kathleen Gibson, Walter
Elliott and Archie Pardon. Auditors are
Ivan Laidlaw and Agnes Farrier;, Adrian
Keet will continue taking water, samples.
Dave Stapleton was elected' president for
coming year.

Plans were made for District annual to be
held in Teeswater Thursday,. May 8. A bus
trip is planned to Owen Sound June 12.

The roll call was answered by 15 on
smart tricks with spots and stains. Mrs.
Rena Fisher volunteered tobe assistant
secretary for 86-87. Merle Wilson gave the
motto t';Feed.:the,F!amily What they"'retitiffe
not what they:desire".
The 4-11 girls' presented their fashions
called action wear garments. Karen Elliott
gave a commentary On their exhibit on Milk -
Shakes which showed comparison between
different types of milk: The most nutritious
single food is milk.
Allison Wardrop gave a review on the
years events. They: enjoyed two projects,
Action Wear and Milk Makes It. Allison
thanked the WI for sponsoring them. Girls
were Karen Elliott, Cathy and Marilyon
Dow, Allison Wardrop, Kim Laidlaw
(absent), Kris Owens and Sherri Hutchi-
's son.
The guest speaker Mrs. Janet Clarke,
Wingham, a registered Health Dietitian, of .
•Guelph University. She spoke on nutrition.
She explained everyone should follow
Canada.Pood•Guide for preparation of our
daily meals. She outlined the four food
groups - Milk and Milk Products, Cereals,
Fruit and Vegetables, Meats, Fish and
Poultry,
She gave us hints on how to,cut down on
weekly grocery bills. She suggested the'.
members check specials, make your own
yogurt, use powdered milk for baking, use
no mane brands,and other helpful hints.
Mrs. McGuire. thanked Mrs. Clarke' for
her presentation.
Cather Dow .gave a, piano solo and KareKaren
Elliott also gave a piano ":solo.
