On March 26 the Brookside boys and
girls basketball teams played a basketball
game against Colborne,. All had t fun!
Both Grade 2 :classes went to London .to
the Children's lvlusenm on11Iareh 26, Miss
Jewitt's and Mrs Clarkes classes enjoye,
the .day- very much. They saw Halley's.
Comet and Inuit games.
Kindergarten2 has started practicing for
the :spring concert this past week.
Fun Fair is being :organized by Room 8
for April 10. Each 'class will be visiting this
for a half hour between 1 and 3:W:. Aly
donations of -old comic books and '.;toys are
,appreciate.d.
The room ;4 Alphabet is becori.ng: the
Animal Kingdom this month They ,:are
busy .classifying animals in different ways,
writing about animals, and creating
strange and amazing new animals. Have
you ever seen a ''Perhurtle"?,► They Also.
had an interesting visit froixs ,Dr, Alma
Armstrong, a, veterinarian. Stuart Wilton]
is the "Special Me this week.
The studentsin grades 2 - 6 are
preparing for the visit from Dr. Zed to
Brookside School on April 17.
On Friday, Grade 1, Room 1 and
Kindergarten 2, went to Robinson's sugar
bush. The children are now making book-
Iets..a" 4 their:. enjoyable field- trip.
Grade 1,,Room 1 have just finished a unit
30W -shapes. They liked the' pyramids
and prisms best. '
Grades 3 and 4 in Room 7 have -,combined
the ;blending of primary `colours with
making printed patterns for butterflies.
They also have some wonderfully creative-
looking
reative looking "blobs" in the robin.
Mrs. Blake has some Buddy Authors
groups going including some pupils from
grades. 3 - 7, These students are, writing
stories which will eventually be ,made into
books. The books will be included in
Brookside iibra�y collection. Some students
will be taking part in the Author's' Day
Workshop which Will be held to Clinton in
May. .
Brookside Science Fair was held on
March 27 in the gynz. Displays were put up
and • judged on ,r ?Yedn-esday afternoon by
various teachers,. Winners were as follows:
Grade 1 Rooin 1, (tied: for first), Scott
Richard, model: castle,. Joey Culbert, space
project; 2nd Caley Moore, stamp collec-
tion; 3rd Tonimy,Brindley, coin collection;
