William John Stimson
William Stimson passed away in St.
Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on March 17,
1986 after a brief illness.
Bill was born on October 22, 1916 in
Delaware Township the first child of the
late William and Margaret (MacKenzie)
Stimson.
The family lived.. on the 4th of Kinloss
after his father returned from World War I,
and Bill attended school at the Grey Ox
public school and Lucknow High School.
In 1937, he joined the Canadian National
Railways, where he worked for 39 years,
retiring in 1976.
Bill also served in World War II with the
Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry -
in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Northwest
Europe. Bill was wounded twice and came
home as a patient with the 48th Highland-
ers.
Royal Canadian Legion, Lucknow Branch
309, conducted a memorial service on
March 19 at 8 p.m. for Bill, who was a,�
dedicated member of Kitchener Branch 50'
for many years.
Although Bill lived in Kitchener since
1957, Lucknow was always home to him.
Bill was a kind, gentle and quiet man who
was respected by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by hismother
(1953), his brother Calvin (1958) and his
father (1963).
He is survived'by.his brother Donald and
his wife. Geraldine of Goderich, and his
sister, Bertha Whitcroft of Lucknow. He
will also be sadly missed ,by two nieces,.
Mary ; of ' Waterloo and Margaret- Ann of
Toronto, and by three nephews, Brock of
Goderich, .David of Toronto, and Michael -of
Lucknow. •
The funeral and committal service was
conducted by. Rev. Merelyn Letson on
March 20 at 2 p.m. - Final resting place
South Kinloss Cemetery.
honorary pallbearers were Allan Gra-
ham, Lloyd MacDougall; Fraser MacKin-
non, Leonard Machines, Arnold Thomson
and David Jewitt.
Marian Elizabeth [Wilson] Lackey
It was with sadness that the family and
friends of the' late Marian Lackey learned
of her sudden passing at the Kincardine
and District General Hospital on Monday,
March 17, 1986.
She was born on June. 4, 1923, the
younger daughter of Robert S. Wilson and
Mary. E. Armstrong of Huron. ' Township.
After graduation from Ripley Continuation
School, she attended a hair -dressing school
in Toronto and operated the,.. Wray -Mar
Beauty Salon there.
On Jan. 18, 1947, she married Douglas
Lackey and they took up residence in
Toronto until 1949 when they purchased
the George McGillivray Homestead, Con-
cession 4 Huron Townshiop. After farming
for thirty-six years, and raging* family of
two, they retired to Kincardine in August
1985. '"
She was a charter member of the Ripley.;
Legion Auxiliary, and an active member of
Pine River United Church until transfer:
ring to Ripley United Church.
Marian leaves to Mourn her husband
Douglas, one son David and his wife Judy
of Sundre, Alberti and: one `daughter.
Karen. and her husband.. ten. Stam of Rit4'
Kincardine. She will be lovingly remem-
bered by eight grandchildren. She: is also
