Ford cars and trucks and also sold a
variety of Ford tractors. There were
American Ford tractors, and Canadian
and English models as well. "We didn't
sell many of the English models."
The tractor sales shop was down
Inglis Street behind where Bain's k
today. When the then new garage went
up across from the arena, the tractor
part of the operation was sold to
Reavie's, now west of the village. That
garage was built in 1951 after the old
blacksmith's shop was torn down.
Beside the blacksmith's shop was an
implement dealership owned by George
,lndrew and Montgomery bought that
building as well. To put a bodyshop onto
the back of the building behind the
parts department, he had the hill on
which the watertower stands partially
dug out.
Many will remember. the furniture
factory standing where the new facility
now sits. When the opportunity arose,
Montgomery bought that as well, tore it
down and used it as a parking lot for the
buses with an eye to eventually building
a new garage.
After the years of building up Mont-
gomery's there are 47 buses on the road
and Montgomery's eldest son James
has the Ford Mercury dealership in
Kincardine. Youngest son Ian has taken
over most duties at the Lucknow dealer-
ship.
"Ian is really the dealer now," said
the elder Montgomery,
The new garage has five bays, a parts
department and front offices for staff.
All those areas had interested people
investigating the new building. Every-
one packed the front of the new
Montgomery's to hear congratulations
to Gordon Montgomery for his success
and wishes for many more successful
years.
Society members change duties

a replacement is being discussed. At „the
present time there is a possibility of selling
serviettes.
Volunteers are still needed to join the
Cancer Society. If you are interested please
contact Mr. Henderson.
The meeting closed and Mrs. Henderson
served her delicious cookies again.
