Love is theme of South
lois AVMS meeting
Mrs. Clark Needham was hostess for the
February meeting of South Kinloss WMS
held in the church on Feb. 5. The meeting
began with a dessert luncheon at 1.30 p.m.
Following this, the hymn, Love divine,
loves excelling, was sung and the Lord's
Prayer and the WMS Aim and Purpose
were repeated in unison.
Mrs. Needham read a poem, Peaceful
Countryside. Mrs. John Forster continued
the study on native peoples. The spiritual-
ity of the Indians was explained by
different religious Indian leaders. They
told how some of their ancient customs had
been incorporated into the Christian
worship service. One writer told of his work
visiting Indians in prisons and how he tried
to raise their self esteem. She closed with a
Sioux prayer.
As Love was the theme of the meeting,
Mrs. Philip Steer sang a very fitting solo,
Love Lifted me, accompanied on the piano
by Mrs. Harry Lavis, Mrs. Philip Steer,
and Mrs. Ira Dickie, Mrs. Steer sang
another lovely solo, His Name is Wonder-
ful.
Mrs. Needham presented the Bible
study based on 1. John 4, verses 7 - 21. The
ladies were divided in groups of four and
given questions on this scripture. Interest-
ing discussions were held and then
answers heard. Nineteen ladies answered
the rollcall with a Bible verse with the
word, love.
Mrs. Lloyd MacDougall reported that
twenty-two more Bibles had been ordered
for the church.
Cards were passed to be signed for Mrs.
Fraser MacKinnon and Mrs. Donald J.
Maclntyre who are hospital patients.

report of the annual meeting of Maitland
Presbyterial held in Wingham Jan. 20.

the church for the March meeting.
The offering was received and dedicated
by Mrs. John Forster who also gave the
