The annual meeting of Christ Anglican
Church, Port Albert was held on Jan. 26.
Rev. R. Crocker presided for the meeting
and expressed thanks to the congregation
for the support given to him and his family
during his sick leave in 1985.
The ACW report was given by Mrs. Cora
Cook noting another financially successful
year, and that there are church plates now
available for $6.00.
The church report was given by Ralph
Foster stating that the church also had a
very successful year. Ralph Foster, our
treasurer, is retiring after many years of
faithful service, and Mrs. Ross (Margie)
Young has been appointed to the position.
Plans are being made to help Port Albert
celebrate its lSOth birthday. The interde-
nominational church serviceyvill be held on
Aug. 3 at 10 with all former rectors,
members, and visitors welcome.
The officers for 1986 are: rector's
warden, Harbourn Adams; people's war-
dren, Phillip Young; vestry clerk, Mrs.
Barb Hayden; and treasurer, Mrs. Margie
Young. Lay delegate to the Synod is Harold
Adams and the substitute is Roy Bellinger.
The Sunday School superintendent is
Mrs. Bev Weaver; organist, Mrs. Betty
Barlet; ACW president, Mrs. Margaret
Young; secretary, Mrs. Bessie Bellinger;
treasurer, Mrs. Cora Cook; and flower
fund, Mrs. Elma Black.
Cemetery board members are William
Tigert, Mrs. Cora Cook, Ralph Foster,
Walter Tigert, Harbourn Adams, Harold
Adams and Mrs. Viola Petrie.
Rintouls speak at annual
Dungannon society dinner
The Dungannon Agricultural Society
held its annual meeting and pot luck
supper on Jan. 29. A social time started at
6:30 with the buffet following.
Special guests were Kim and Debbie
Rintoul. Both girls, who have won many
awards during their 4-H activities, spoke
about their past achievements and future
goals. They also had many of their trophies
and awards exhibited for all to enjoy.
Sandra Rivett, one of the.1985 auditors,
reported that the receipts for 1985 totalled
837, 745.49 while expenses were
838,367.28. Sandra and Mary Ellen Boel
were appointed as auditors again for 1986.
Fair queen, Denise Maize and fair
princess, Tanya Maclnnis were special
guests for the evening. Denise thanked the
Agricultural society for it's support and
said she was looking forward to the
Agricultural Societies of Ontario Conven-
tion at the Royal York Hotel, Toronto on
Feb. 19 and 20 and to the Miss C.N.E.
pageant in Toronto this summer..
Dates were set for this year's events.
The ball tournament will be shortened to a
two day event, June 13 and 14. Also, it was
decided to have the tournament for players
30 years of age and over. The Family Fun
Day will be held Aug. 10 with the Fair the
following weekend, Aug. 15 and 16.
Jack Caesar made a surprise presenta-
. tion to one of the directors who has been
involved with the agricultural society since
1936. Eldon Culbert has helped with a
variety of jobs over the years, including
serving as president. He continues to help
every way he can even after 50 years of
service.
Arnold Young held nominations and
elections with the following results:
president, Carol Nivins; secretary, Bonnie
Hodges; treasurer, Lynda McNee; first
vice president, John Fielder and second
vice president, Grant Johnston.
Other directors, include. Jack Caesar,
Bob Wright, ichelle Brindley, Bob•
McNeil, Bernice Glenn, Eldon Culbert and
Rob Robson.
Directors look forward to the continued
support that the community has, shown
during the past.

National Filin Board series continues at library
The third film in the National Film
Board Series at the Lucknow Branch
Library will be shown Thursday even-
ing, Feb. 13 at 7:30 at the Lucknow
Library. It is CBC production called The
Winnings of Frankie Walls.
A poignant drama about a middle-
aged laborer and father of three who is
suddenly laid off. Unskilled and poorly
educated, Walls (played by Al Wax-
man) struggles to find work in a society
that has deemed his experience obso-
lete. It is a story of one man's dignify
and personal triumph. There is no
charge to view this hour long film.
