Bruce County Weed Inspector for 13 years.
Funeral and committal, services for Stan
Thompson were cpnductd at the Davey-
Linklater Funeral Homme ->Jan. 26. The
grandson were honourary pallbearers.
Spring interment -in Kincardine cemet-
ery.
William John Petrie
William John Petrie of Goderich and
formerly of Dungannon died at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital on Tuesday,
January 21, 1986 in his 86th year.
A retired farmer, he was a member of
North Street United Church, Goderich.
Born in Ashfield Township on March 1.
1900, he was a son of the late John William
Petrie and the former Eliza Kilpatrick. He
was married tothe former Elizabeth Black,
who predeceased him.
Stanley Sanpeld Thompson
Stanley Sanfield Thompson of Kincar-
dine Township passed away in his 89th
year at the Southampton Nursing Home on
Jan. 24, 1986.
Born Aug. 21, 1897, he was the last
surving family member of William Henry
Thompson and Margaret Emily Stanley.
He was the beloved husband for 63 years
of Clara Merritt; father of Alvin, RR 2
Kincardine and daughter Bernice Norman,
RR 5 Kincardine.'
He is also survived by ten grandchildren
and nine great grandchildren. He was pre-
deceased by one brother, Walter, and half
brother Robert, and by three sisters, Clara,
He is survived by a son, Allan of Goderich,
a son, Ken and his wife, Marie of Kincardine
and a daughter, Marina and her husband,
John Park of Dungannon. Six grand-
children, one great grandson, two sisters,
Mary, Mrs. Case Black of Kitchener, and
Elsie, Mrs. Richard McIntyre of Goderich
and one brother, Joe of Tillsonburg also sur-
vive.
Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a
son in infancy, a granddaughter, a sister,
Bertha, Mrs. Jim McMillan and two
brothers, Roy and Charles.
The funeral was held from the McCallum
Funeral Home in Goderich on Thursday,
January 23, 1986 at 2 p.m., conducted by
Rev. Robert O. Ball of North Street United
Church, Goderich.
Flowerbearers were Wayne Park, Glenda
Park, Virginia Petrie and Fay Petrie.
Pallbearers were Murray Johnston,
Wilfred Glen, John Black, Bill Black, Frank
Pentland and Bill Caesar.
Burial in Dungannon Cemetery.

Annie Grace Turner
Annie Turner passed away after a
lengthy illness on Dec. 27, 1985, the day
after her 85th birthday. She passed away at
Rest Haven Nursing Home, Aurora.
She was born in Culross Township on the
eighth concession. She went to Westford
Public School, then Teeswater high school
and then went on to Toronto Teac'ier's
College. She taught a grade 1 class in that
city for over forty years.
She is predeceased by her parents,
Richard and Edith Turner (Thompson) and
three brothers and three sisters.
Surviving is her eldest niece, Fanny
McFarlane of Lucknow where she general -
1y spent a couple of weeks each year, and
many more nieces and nephews, and many
cousins.
Early in life she taught children ,from
four to seven years at Tipincot Salvation
Army. Many remember her for her gift of
visiting the sick and helpless.
Funeral service took place in Toronto on
Dec. 29 with a second service at Teeswater
Dec. 30. Burial in Teeswater Cemetery.
Holyrood
Holyrood 4-H held their first meeting on
Jan. 20 at the home of Mrs. MacEwan. The
meeting started with the 4-H pledge. There
are nine members: Sherray Murray,
Betty -Ann Murray, Joanne Murray, Karen
Binder, Michelle Cross, Steven MacEwan,
Susan Miller, Karen Miller, Donna John-
ston.
The club had an election of officers:
president is Joanne Murray; vice presid-
ent, Steven MacEwan; secretary, rotating;
and press reporter, Donna Johnston.
Members went over their home activi-
ties. Then the group made Mexican Salad,
Nachos and herb dip and Mrs. MacEwan
made the strawberry sherbert. Mrs.
Murray announced the date of achieve-
ment day. The next meeting is Feb. 3 at
Mrs. Murray's house. The meeting was
adjourned by Sherray Murray, seconded by
Donna Johnston.
Kairshea Dairys Gents and Maids

On Jan. 25,the first 4-H cooking class
was held at Mrs. deBoers. The club is
called the Kairshea Dairys Gents and
Maids.
Barbara Stein was nominated as secret-
ary, and Joanne' de Boer as the president.
In the first class, the group made a
Mexican salad and Nachos, and for the
drink members made a strawberry milk
shake. Cody Thomas was put on clean up
duty with Gary Stein and Megan Clarke.
On Feb. 1 the club had its second
meeting for cooking class at Mrs. de Boers
at 9:45. A health nurse came in to talk
about osteoporosis and said it was caused
from a lack of calcium usually people from
50, years old and up get osteoporosis.
When members were going to cook the
meal, Cody and Bev cooked the hot cocoa,
and Gary Stein and John Van Neeteren and
made the creamy pasta. Herman Van
Meeteren and Kara Kirkland made the
basic white sauce. Megan Clarke and John
Stein made the cheese fondue dip. Barbara
Stein and Joanne de Boer were stuck on
clean up.

New Zealand trip
Shirley and Clarence Allan, with J. S.
Robb and Marion of Huron Township and
Dorothy and Allan Wytock of Teeswater,
all left Monday from Toronto for New
Zealand for a three week vacation.
Roy and Marlene Keane, Bryan and
Arlene of Newmarket visited with Marl-
ene's mother, Beryl Hunter on the
weekend.
" Bill and Edna Ross had a visit from their
daughter and grandson this past week.
