Mr. and Mrs. Alex Percy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and were honored at
the Kinlough Presbyterian Church. Over 100 friends and relatives gathered to wish the
couple continued good health and best wishes.
Daniel Nelson Nicholson
Dan Nicholson, Lucknow, passed away
at Wingham and District Hospital, Tues-
day, Jan. 21, 1986 in his 99th year. Born
Jan. 11,. 1888 in Kincardine Township son
of Alexander Nicholson and Christina
tleVicar., A baker by trade, he worked in
the Ripley and Kincardine areas until
enlisting in the First World War at Kincar-
dine in 1915 •with the 160th, Battalion. He
was later with the 78th Winnipeg Grenad-
iers. He seryed three years overseas, one
year in the trenches.
He was married June 9, 1920 to Alberta
Jane Miller, Kincardine and farmed west
of Kinlough for three years and then west
of LucknOw, until he moved to Lucknow in
1957. He was a member of Lucknow Pres-
byterian Church, Lucknow Legion Branch
309 and was one of • the founding members
of the Lucknow United Farmers organiza-
tion.
His wife predeceased him Dec. 1976,
and he was also predeceased ' by six
brothers and two sisters. He resided in his
home in Lucknow until after his 95th,
birthday and then resided with members of
his family. Although hospitalized for the
past four months, he enjoyed visits with his
family.
He is survived by four daughters, Isabel
(Mrs. Jim Hunter), Lucknow; Margaret
(Mrs.- Lorne Ritchie), Huron Township;
Donalda (Mrs. William Smith), Seaforth;
Marion (Mrs. Don Gillespie), Kinlough;
and one son Ken, Shelburne. There are 12
grandchildren and eight great grand-
children.
A Legion service was held on Wednes-
day evening and the funeral service was
conducted Jan. 23 from MacKenzie and
McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, with
Rev. Allison Ramsay and Rev. William
Henderson conducting the service. Spring
interment Kincardine Cemetery.
Honourary pallbearers were grandchild-
ren: Allan, David, Wayne Nicholson, Ron
Gillespie, Rob Smith, Jack Aitchison. arid
Jack Miller.
David Louis Kraemer
David Louis Kraemer of Kinloss Town-
ship died in Kincardine Hospital. Jan8,
1986, as the result of a heart attack. He was,
43.
Mr. Kraemer was an electrician in Wing -
ham and a member of St. Mary's Roman
Catholic Church, Lucknow.
He was born in Walkerton on Nov. 25.
1942, the son of LoUis and Elizabeth
(Siedle) Kramer of Bluevale. He married
Jean Ernwein, fortnerly of Riversdale, on'
June 21, 1969 at St. Anne's Parish, Rivers -
dale.
He .is .survived by his wife, parents and
three children, Donald, Daniel and Julie,
all, of Holyrood. Surviving brothers and
sisters are Mary (Mrs. Gary Schumaker),
Kitchener; Albert, Walkerton; Ralph, Ron-
ald, Riversdale; and Gordon, Wingham.
He was predeceased by one brother,
Elmer.
The funeral, service overseen by Mac-
Kenzie and McCreath Funeral Hom
Lucknow, was held on Jan. 11 at St.
Mary's, Lucknow with Father Ed Denting-
er officiating. Marilyn Murray was the
soloist and pallbearers were Kevin Mur-
ray, Kevin Ackert, John Meyer, Allan
Murray, and Joe and Tim Koebel.
Interment at Greenhill Cemetery, Luck -
now.
Sarah Curry Johnston
Former registered nurse Sarah Curry
Johnston died at Pinecrest Manor, Luck -
now on Jan. 20, 1986, - at the age of 89.
She was a registered nurse in Wingham
and Lucknow areas for 36 years before
retiring in 1960.,
The Ashfield Township native was also a
member of the •Lucknow Presbyterian
Church, the Women's Missionary Society
and the Senior Citizens' Club.
She was born to Thomas Johnston and
Martha (Nelson) on Jan. 4, 1897. She was
predeceaSed by her parents, two brothers,
William and David and a sister, Mary.
The funeral service was held Jan. 23 at
MacKenzie and McCreath Funeal Home
with Rev. Allison Ramsay in charge.
Soloists were Mr. and Mrs. Austin Loree
and the organist was Mrs. William (Peggy)
Henderson.
Interment is at Greenhill Cemetery,
Lucknow.
Elizabeth 'Pat' [Walsh] Howard
Elizabeth 'Pat' (Walsh) Howard, 68, of
tshfield Township, died Saturday,"Jan. 11,
1986 at the Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital, Goderich.
She was born June 23, 1917 in
Bellanghy, Northern Ireland and worked as
a registered nurse at the Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital until 1982 when she
retired. :She was a member of the St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kings-
bridge and ofthe CWL of the same church.
She was predeceased by her husband
Robert Anthony Howard on June 15, 1985.
Surviving are one daughter Anne Marie
, and her husband Michael Zeitch, of
Oshawa, one son Gerald, of Ashfield Town-
ship and brothers and sisters l3tidget
taughran, Mary McNally, 3ut and Frank
Walsh, all in, Ireland.
Funeral imass was celebrated by Rev.
Frank -Dentinger in. St., Joseph's Roman
Catholic Church oil Mond*. Jan:- 13.
Interment St, Joseph's Cemetery. Prayers
were said at the McCallum Funeral Home
Sunday everiing.
Pallbearers were itlaWrence Hogan.
Francis Hpgart, Ben Miltenberg, Doug
Scott, Den KA and John VanRooY.
