Lucknow Bantams got off to a slow start
Friday night when they hosted Belmore.
The local boys were down two goals at the
2:35 mark but two quick goals by Sam
Murray and Matt Rhody tied the score at
the end of the first period.
Lucknow dominated in the second period
both in scoring, with three goals, and in
penalties, with ten minutes.
Period three saw Belmore retaliate with
three goals, however it wasn't enough as
Lucknow pumped in another four.
Wayne Nivens picked up an unassisted
hat trick in the third which coach Harvey
Livingston attributes to the use of his
"special oldtimers stick" that Nivens used
in the third.
Final score 9 - 5 for Lucknow.
Manager Dune Campbell, who was
enjoying a social time at the Robbie Burns'
Night, paid a visit to the player's bench in -
his kilt, which must have been just a bit
chilly. That's dedication!
Points for the evening were goals:
Nivens three and Rhody, S. Murray,
Jimmy Sinnett, Kevin de Jong, Brad
Murray and Jeff Gammie one each; assists
to Nivens two; Harvey Kikkert one; de
Jong two; Dave Schuler two.
On Saturday, the Bantams travelled to
Paisley for a tournament.
The first game was against Wiarton with
a 6 - 1 win for Lucknow.
Points were Harvey Kikkert three goals,
Wayne Nivens, two goals, 1 assist; Sam
Murray, one goal, two assists; Steve
Mensinga, one assist; Kevin de Jong, two
assists; Jeff Gammie, two assists; Mark

winless streak broken in shootout
The Lucknow Lancers ended a two game
winless streak over the weekend in another
shootout against Drayton. Final score was
Lucknow 11, Drayton 7. The lead changed-
hands
hangedhands several times during the game and..
both teams knew where the penalty box
was by the end of the game.
Jim Murray opened the scoring with a
long shot that somehow got past the
Drayton goalie. Steve Alton and Brad
Humphrey scored one each and then Larry
MacPherson took a "Jim Murray shot"
from the blueline which somehow got past
the Drayton goalie to even the score at 4 -
4.
In the second period Jim Keller picked
up a loose puck around the Drayton net and
took a shot, and picked up a loose puck and
snot, and picked up a loose puck and shot
and finally put the puck in the net. With
the Lancers behind 6 - 5 Steve Simpson
picked up a loose puck around the Drayton
net and took one shot for one goal to end
the period 6 - 6.
Lucknow scored five more in the third
with goals by Don Elliott, Jim Murray with
his second,P Pat Murray, Grant Gilchrist
and Steve MacPherson. AIlan , Dyck
handled the chores in the Lucknow net.
Last weekend the Lancers suffered two
losses, one at the hands of Ripley and one

enough to save the Lancers.
