As Chairman of the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority, 1 am pleased
to be able to present to you the fourth
edition of our Valleys and People

This newsletter highlights various

Our organization is at the forefront
of resource management efforts within
a defined watershed area. We have
established day use recreational areas,

use them, tell your friends about them
and enjoy the fine facilities available
right in our own area of the Province.
If you have a resource management
problem or concern, don't hesitate to
call the conservation authority. Our
staff are qualified, ready and able to
assist you in dealing with your resource

LOCAL FIRM
SUPPORTS CONSERVATION
Conservation education means lear-
ning more about the wise use of our
natural resources. Sure, this means be-
ing outside, but wouldn't it be nice if
there was a warm, comfortable
classroom on site?
The comfortable classroom was
already available at the Wawanosh
Valley Conservation Area.. It was the
warmth that the Maitland Valley Con,00
-
servation Authority couldn't afford to
fund.
The Maitland Conservation Founda-
tion, a non-profit fund raising
organization, set to work to raise funds
for the installation of heating in the
classroom.
John MacDonald, President of Ideal
Supply Company Ltd., when approach-
ed for the contribution commented
that he was I happy to assist in the
development of the Wawanosh Valley
Conservation Education Centre. Mr.
MacDonald also indicated his pleasure
in supporting this type of local educa-
tional project.
Today, thanks to the generousity of
Mr. J. MacDonald our classroom is
heated and from the staff and students
at Wawanosh, our "warmest" thanks.
