Annie May Duffle
Annie Duffle of Mount Hope passed
away in Henderson Hospital, llamilton on
Dec. 27, 1985 at the age of 62.
Born on Aug. 26, 1923 in Ashfield
Township, she was the daughter of the late
Thomas Culbert and Emma Roach.
She attended S.S. 16 Crewe Public
School, Ashfield Township. Later, she
worked for years at the Westinghouse
factory in Hamilton.
On July 21, 1951, she married William
Duffle of Hamilton at Wesley United
Church.
She leaves to mourn her husband, one
daughter, Mrs.'.Richard (Linda) Wilkinson,
Hamilton, one son, Dennis of Dunnville
and a baby granddaughter Melissa Ann
Wilkinson.
Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Allan
(Violet) Ritchie of Ashfield Township and
two' brothers, Tom, also of Ashfield and
Roy of Kincardine Township.
She rested at M,A. Clark Funeral Home
in Hamilton, Ontario until Dec. 31, 1985.
The service took place at 1:30 p.m. with
Rev. Robert Wagner of. Burkholder United
Church officiating. Burial took place on
same date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gar-
dens, Hamilton.
Pallbearers were Allan Wilkinson, Ger-
ald lsnor, Mike lsnor, and five nephews,
Bruce Duffle, Randy Duffle, Mike Duffle,
Larry Duffle and Danny Duffle.
Elizabeth Dalton
Mrs. Louis Dalton of Lucknow, formerly
of St. Helens and Kingsbridge, died at the
Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Luck -
now on Dec. 9, 1985 at the age of 87.
The former Elizabeth McCarthy was
born on March 21, 1898 at Kingsbridge to
Florence and Mary (Austin) McCarthy. She
was the youngest and the last surviving
member of a family of five sons and three
daughters. She was married to Louis
Dalton of Kingsbridge and is fondly rein-
embered as "Lizzie Louie". They farmed
in the Kingsbridge area for several years.
Louie predeceased her in 1965. They had
no family. She is survived by several nieces
and nephews.
She was an active member of St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church; the
Beverly Tofefson,r nee Stanley, daughter of
Mrs., and Mrs. Hiro Stanley of Lucknow,
graduated from .Wilfred Laurier University
on May 26 at Kitchener Auditorium with a
Bachelor of Arts degree. She majored in
sociology.
Kingsbridge Dramatic Club; the Altar
Society and was a founding member of the
Kingsbridge Catholic Women's League
(1921). She has been a resident at the
Pinecrest Nursing Home, Lucknow since
Feb. 23, 1977.
Mass of the Christian Burial was cele-
brated in St, Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church, Kingsbridge, by the Rev. Father
Ed Dentinger, C.R. on Dec. 13 at 11 a.m.
Members of the Kingsbridge Catholic
Women's League formed a.gu.ard of honor.
Her favourite hymns "Wilt .Thou Look
Upon Me, Mother" and "Mother Dear Oh
Pray for Me" were sung by Eugene Frayne
and Raymond Dalton accompanied by Mrs.
Shawn Dalton.
Pallbearers were William McCarthy,
Austin McCarthy, Pat McCarthy, Larry
Francis, John Austin and Joe Courtney.
The McBurney Funeral Home, Wing -
ham was in charge of arrangements. The
Rosary and family prayers were led by Rev.
Father Ed Dentinger; C.R. Spring burial
will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at Kings-
bridge.
Lunch was served in the church base-
ment by members of the Kingsbridge
Catholic Women's League.
Dorothea Mildred [Chessell] Ritchie
Dorothea Mildred Ritchie of Brussels,
died Jan. 3, 1986 at Victoria Hospital,
London, at the age of 74.
The former Dorothea Mildred Chessell
was the daughter of the late William and
Hannah (Philips) Chessell.
The late Mrs. Ritchie is survived by her
husband John Gardner Ritchie of Brussels,
sons Robert of Brantford and Ken of
London; one daugler Bonnie, Mrs. Hill
Taylor of RR 3 Wroxeter, and four grand-
children.
One brother Dalton Chessell of Mitchell
and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Cruickshank of
Wingham, also survive..
The late Mrs. Ritchie was predeceased
by one granddaughter, two brothers and
one sister. .
Funeral service was conducted from the
M. L. Watts Funeral Home, Brussels by
Rev. Charles- Carpentier on Jan. 6, 1986
with burial in Brussels Cemetery: The
Morning Star Rebekah Lodge held a
memorial service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Carson Watson, Dave
McCutcheon, Jim Cardiff, Hugh Pearson,
Bill Wheeler and Rob Ritchie.
Flower bearers were Heather and Linda
Wilson, Lorie and Cheryl Ritchie.
Donations accepted for Diabetic Assoc-
iation or 'Ontario Heart and Stroke Found-
ation.
