Bantams lose, post big win over Wallaceburg
In their last game prior to Christmas, the
Bantams travelled to Howick where they
were defeated 9 - 6.
Lucknow opened the scoring with two
quick goals in the first period by Wayne
Nivens with Jeff Gammie picking up two
assists and Kevin de Jong, one assist.
Howick came back to life in a hurry and
for the remainder of the first period put
five goals past the Lucknow goalie.
Howick led off the second period with
three goals while Lucknow retaliated with
two goals by Kevin ..de Jong with Nivens
picking up two assists. 9animie and
Chopper Murray received singles.
Lucknow led off the third 'period with an
unassisted goal by Nivens. Howick picked
up a single and de Jong, assisted by . Kirk
Livingston and Nivens, changed the .score-
board with 1;49 left, ,
Wallace'vistted`tucknow on Jan,. 3 and
must "have wondered what was in the
turkey .dressing 'the Lucknow squad con-
sumed over the holidays..
The . first minute of the game saw the
Wallace goalie being mesmerized by .the
sight of Lucknow players pounding the
puck at flim . over and over. In 55 seconds
Lucknow had put three goals in the net by
Harvey Kikkert, Livingston and Kent
Campbell. Assists went to Llvingeton,
Kikkert; Scott Gibson and. Gammie.
Wallace finally . got. their game together
and at 2:57, Wallace pumped one in.
Lucknow replied at 1:55 on a goal off the
stick of Gammie with: Livingston, and Brad
Stanley from Ripley, assisting,
Period two opened with Kikkert scoring
again in the first 15 seeonds assisted by
another Ripleyite, Dave Schuler, and
Livingston. Steve Mensinga dented t '
twine at 9:53 with assists by Gibson. and,
Campbell at 8:53. Kikkert scored his .hat
trick assisted by Dave MacDougall.
Wallace ended the scoring for the second
period at 7:43.
The Lucknow squad came on strong in
the opening minutes of the third period,
scoring, three goals by the 12:22 mark.
Campbell picked up two goals and Kikkert
another. Assists went to Schuler, Men-
singa, Livingston and C. Murray..
Wallace scored one . more at 9:13.
Kikkert picked up his fifth goal of the night
with 5:01 left, Gammie and MacDougall
assisted.
In a penalty -ridden game an Moine ice
Friday night, the Lucknow °Bantams
squeaked out a 4 - 3 win. over Ripley.
The penalty side of the , score sheet
definitely received more attentionthan the
scoring column with . bothtens taking 28
minutes in minors and Ripley picking tipan
extra 10 minute misconduct,

last period.

On Jan. 11, the locals travelled to
London for an exhibition game in, the
London Gardens against one of the London
minor hockey teams.
Final score was Lucknow 6, London 2.

Jong, two goals; Sam Murray, one goal,
two assists, Kirk Livingston, two goals and
two assists; live MacDougall, one goal;
with Wayne Nivens, Scott Gibson and
Harvey Kikkert each getting .one assist. ,
Teeswater visits Lucknow Friday at 8:30.
Lucknow will travel to Parkhill on Sunday
